Being a Co-Conspirator is Better Than Being a Patient

I decided when I started my blog that I wanted to enlist the insights of friends

on occasion to share their insights on topics in which I'm not as well versed.

Most of us during our lives will face a hospital stay and/or chronic illness

ourselves or have a loved one who will. Thus, I think having someone who has

lessons to share on making

such stays effective in terms health and emotions, can be of help to a lot of

people.

The response to my previous post about the contrast of (supportive people in our

lives versus the non-supportive people who leave us high and dry) has been

overwhelmingly positive, more so than any other blog post so far...indeed, a

TACA Autism mom joked that I should have my friend Corbie clone herself, because

she needed a Corbie too. So I asked Corbie to do a guest post on the lessons

that she learned after three bouts with Cancer...since she has been my go-to

person when some health issue is wreaking havoc in our family. Her guest post

is titled:

" Being a Co-Conspirator is Better Than Being a Patient "

I believe these lessons can be applied and very useful whether the issue is

Cancer, Renal Disease, Autism, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Charcot-Marie-Tooth

Disease, Lyme disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc. While your at my site, it

is my hope that you will take a moment to use a link on the site to vote for

Corbie to get her book published. I want to help people, additionally I want

people to vote for Corbie's book pitch...and happily those two things are not

mutually exclusive. Writing a blog means giving voice to my passions, so this

current post combines a couple of my passions...additionally, I posted a piece

about the time frame when we did foster care of rescue dogs...it took me longer

than originally planned as it was an emotional experience. I know a lot of

special needs families get a dog as a companion for their special child. If you

or someone you know plans to add a dog to your family dynamic, please read this

post:

" Puppy Love...Rescue My Heart " http://fetchitfido.com/waiwaihblog/?p=216

Also, upcoming posts that I have planned for the next week are a post of how

Dennis DeYoung's/Styx music helped me " carry on " during challenging times (in

honor of Dennis DeYoung's birthday), and a post about why we chose to homeschool

our daughter with Autism.

Feel free to share with others.

Peace be with you!---
