Guest guest
Our son just completed round 6, 25 mg ALA & 25 mg DMSA, every 3 hours for both. He weighs about 120 lbs. He had one break between round 2 & 3. No gains. However, lately noticed more bathroom accidents during chelation rounds. We took him to the rest room every hour or so which we increased to every 1/2 hour without success. Also he had a bout with constipation for about ten days. A laxaitive seemed to help that. He seems more hyper during chelation. I just tested his urine Ph and it was about 6. I know we need to increase the urine Ph to above 8 using baking soda, citrate or malate supplements. What dosage? Every day or only during chelation rounds? Any ideas about lack of gains & side affects? Thanks for any input. Bruce
Guest guest
After starting way too high for my approx 125# daughter, we began again w 6mg each of DMSA and ALA. Now after many rounds we have edged up to 25mgDMSA and approx 12mgALA. Side effects have been almost non existent w this lower dose for us. You may want to drop the dose to a more tolerable level. Magnesium oxide[not well absorbed] keeps the gut going here. > > Our son just completed round 6, 25 mg ALA & 25 mg DMSA, every 3 hours for both. He weighs about 120 lbs. The usual starting dose is 1/8 mg/lb, which would be 15 mg. He may be more comfortable at that dose or lower. > He had one break between round 2 & 3. No gains. Supplements are taken on and off rounds. Use 1/4 tsp baking soda or less in between meals. Or make an electrolyte drink with baking soda and sea salt (use google to search for SCD honey lemon electrolytes). See if he will take in more fruit and vegetables, fresh vegetable juice. > Any ideas about lack of gains & side affects? Thanks for any input. > What you are describing are side effects. It is likely that the doses are too high for now. J > Bruce > > > > > >
Guest guest
Increased urination is very common and normal for chelation. This is a sign of detoxification and its how the body eliminates metals. DMSA via urine, ALA via stool. Usually this slows down and subsides as you get farther into chelation. Constipation is usually yeast. Are you using any antifungals/probiotics? Hyperness is common during chelation. Consider extra magnesium which will also help the constipation. Urine pH isn't necessary for frequent low dose chelation. Side effects means its doing something. Gains can take time. You should see something, even tiny things by round 10. Gains don't always show up on the round either, sometimes they appear after. Keep a video journal and written log of what you see/doses, etc. This will help you go back after 10 rounds and see what changes have taken place. Gains are not always largely obvious. > > Our son just completed round 6, 25 mg ALA & 25 mg DMSA, every 3 hours for both. He weighs about 120 lbs. He had one break between round 2 & 3. No gains. Guest guest
My son also had wetting accidents the first few months. Also, gains seem to be " hidden " at first by yeast. > > Our son just completed round 6, 25 mg ALA & 25 mg DMSA, every 3 hours for both. He weighs about 120 lbs. He had one break between round 2 & 3.
