Guest guest
What if, after 6 yrs, you're still not at the full dose? My one dd and I are able to increase our dose of ala periodically (and are now, just recently, not including the dmsa), but my other dd (13, born at 26 wks, vaccinated in Russia, then re-vaccinated all in one day at about 9 mos here - both girls were), who has shown by far the most improvement after about 58 rounds, is still on only about 4.5 mg per dose. I even have to use the liquid ala still, as she is unable to tolerate the capsule ala no matter how small I get it. She had major improvements this year, yet we are just now seemingly coming out of a couple of months of regression. I feel like she'll get 18 and ready to leave home and we won't get to the final, maximum dose. Has anyone else had this happen? The maximum dose is .5mg per pound of kid, right? She is small, at about 90 lbs and about 5 ft. Can you be done chelating if you never reach that after 6 yrs? > > 100 to 300 rounds is what Andy says. 2 to 6 years chelating every week. > TJ
Guest guest
We never got to the 1/2 mg per pound before my kiddo recovered and we stopped chelating. It doesn't have to be exact, but one of the parameters for being done with chelation is " no reaction to chelators at high doses " which I assume would have to be close but not exactly the 1/2 mg per pound. As more mercury gets excreted she will likely tolerate a higher dose. > > > > 100 to 300 rounds is what Andy says. 2 to 6 years chelating every week. > > TJ >
Guest guest
, The maximum dose is not intended to mean you *have* to get to that dose to be successful. It is a guideline for safe chelation. You stay at the dose what works for you. Increasing it does not greatly increase the rate of heavy metal excretion. If you aren't seeing progress, consider other interventions like diet, anti-virals, anti-inflammatories, etc (if you have not already).
