Guest guest
hi, i'm cathy and i'm chelating my 5yr old lead and mercury toxic son on DMSA and ALA. I took a break of two months and i'm so discouraged at the lack of obvious progress. i hope to resume chelation soon-i just started givng supplements again-i went off those as well. thanks for sharing this. > > My children improved tremendously on a few long breaks from chelation that lasted a month or two. The first break was unintentional, my younger son and I got sick and afterward I was too weak to begin again for awhile. The chelation rounds we started after the breaks were more symptomatic and caused quite a bit of discomfort. > > I did not notice this until I looked back and realized what had happened. I think the first round after a break mobilizes a lot more metal than previous rounds did. I want to warn people to consider starting at a much lower dose if you have taken a break. > > I'd like to know Andy's thoughts on this because I am not sure if even lowering the dose will help or if something else should be done (higher EFAs or something). > > I know that I have told some people about our success with taking longer breaks and they decided to do so also and had the same success. If there is anything that can be done to lessen side effects when starting again though, I'd like to tell them what is recommended. > > Please consider, Andy and others, that I am mainly talking about the more severe children, whose parents sometimes find it hard to know if progress is even taking place until they take a break. I honestly think my experience with breaks kept some doing Cutler protocol when they may have otherwise given up. > > Liz >
Guest guest
My 15 yo boy has severe autism, he did not even potty train until 10 yo. I chelate every other weekend due to my boy's schedule with his dad. I'm not sure if that is considered a longer break since most chelate every weekend, but we do see very obvious progress so far. We're in round #9 right now. Deb > > > > My children improved tremendously on a few long breaks from chelation that lasted a month or two.
