Guest guest
The Ig are for antibodies classified as one of 5 Immunoglobulin, the IgM is the first antibody produced to respond to just about any forgein invader to your body, IgM bands show new or current infection while IgG show old or active infection. The IgG is the primary one produced to combat toxins, virus's and bacterium. These are produced several weeks after an infection.
Guest guest
Can you please define the difference between a current infection (IgM) and an active infection (IgG). I would love to understand this issue better...it seems confusing to me. Thanks, Tamara

LOL I got bit 17 years ago, have gotten reinfected and I still show IgG and IgM bands, the bands also change from test to test. I think its just kinda more of a rule of thumb than written in stone how to read the bands.
