Guest guest
From: " J. 'Rose' Rose" <therosewriter@...> I noticed last evening that someone mentioned they wished they had the opportunity to learn sign language as one of the members planning to attend at Gettysburg is deaf. We have a friend (met him last year) that always comes to our Karaoke shows and dances up a storm. (Great dancer!) We found a couple of program online that were very useful in learning to communicate in sign language. He does not read lips, and we always wrote, and wrote, and wrote! He carries a little notebook everywhere, and so do I because I'm so forgetful. He was really happy and a little shocked when I surprised him by saying "Hi, Cigo" the first time in sign language. Wanted to know how I learned to do that. (That's all I had learned at that point, but I wrote that I had found a site on the computer that could teach me.)The programs show the proper movement of the fingers (both stationary and in motion). I'm not sure if these are the sites that I found where you could print out the proper signs. Somewhere in my files I had printouts. Check them out before Gettysburg. The signs are not hard to learn or retain. Good luck, all.http://dww.deafworldweb.org/asl/http://where.com/scott.net/asl/abc.htmlThe "RoseWriter" says: "Teach Tolerance, Overcome Ignorance, Advocate Lyme Literacy." Guest guest
Thanks RJ, That looks like a great web site, I doubt that I could learn anything that fast since I have neuro Lyme problems. I will try to learn a few though. I hope comes with us to G-burg. Sure wish you and Rose could make it too, but I realize it is quite a distance from Texas to PA. I took a brief look at your web site yesterday, you have been very busy, great job. Hugs, Marta From: " R. " <rjamesmartin@...> From: " J.
