Guest guest
As this subject has been mentioned here and elsewhere, I am going to check tomorrow to see if we can get group rates at a hotel where I attended the American Horticultural Society's Annual Conference, " Out of the Classroom, Into the Garden, " and one other place I have stayed. Both are quite near the Metro with shuttle service, and near a mall. The hotel shuttle is free. Metro can take y ou just about anywhere, safe, crime-free it seems, great maps, etc., and there is an exit for the Capitol. You simply switch colors (lines) to go here and there. Do we want tee shirts for MOW? I had e-mailed about it to Lovey, waiting to hear. Wash, D.C. Hotels are quite pricey during the week, usu. can get 1/2 price on weekends. May 3rd is Weds. unfortunately. I called there today but was a few minutes too late, you have to talk to group reservations person. If we could double up in rooms, we could afford it, and then many of us could get there by Rail. It goes straight into the same central station as the Metro. Also one great thing about D.C. is it is handicapped friendly. The Metro (subway) has both escalators and elevators, usually at every stop. If you drive a car down there it is a little problem finding p[arking. I will post what I find out. By the way, Pat says there are no free buses - not from LDANJ and not from LDF. Jeannine aka ParTayTick after last weekend! (No one will ever know the 'REAL' story, whooooo).
