Guest guest
Dear , THANK YOU SO MUCH (sorry for shouting, but I am so excited at the possibility of being able to save pix). I do have a zip drive & Cannon scanner software (Cannon Scan Gear), ArcSoft Photobase & Adobe Active Share. Thanks so much again! Blessings, Chris PS - If you get this in time, could you ask them about software to use with laptop & cell phone? (Just found out ATT has a free one that gives free internet connection with no limit... Could take laptop everywhere so I could stay up-to-date on the list always. LOL!) Thanks so much again! > > I know nothing about xp but just happen to have someone coming over today to fix my system who does and I will ask him about the email stuff, if I can remember. Am writing myself a post-it right now. > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi, I too was diagnosed with spinal stenosis about a year ago. I have it in my cervical and lumbar region along with a perforated disc in my right lower back. I've been offered pain meds and muscle relaxers for the most part. Doc is willing to talk surgery, but I am not. I guess I have a little different viewpoint than most. My elderly Dad had the surgery for this 2 1/2 year ago. I was with him for the surgery and his aftercare. He was 72 at the time. (a very healthy 72) He only had the cervical region. It was a two part surgery and it sure looked messy and he sure seemed to be in a world of pain during aftercare for quite awhile. I'm too big a baby to put myself through that just yet so I keep dealing with the symptoms as best I can which are probably relatively mild at this point. The worst for me is my neck and shoulder pain. I am determined to get a hot tub with the next income tax refund though because I know that would relieve a lot of the pain. Has anyone else tried it? Another thing that has been recommended to me, although I haven't yet bought it is Move Free. Glucosamine and Chondroitin with MSM. Just my 02cents, Another Debbie -- hyperreflexia Hi everyone, It was nice to find this group because no one I know really seems to understand my misery. I have had multi-level (cervical, lumbar, and thoracic) "mild" spinal stenosis for several years now. Due to degerative arthritis. As time passes the symptoms become more severe but except for offering me pain medications, the doctors I have seen do little for me. A big YES, to the leg cramps. Because of the cervical involvement I also have cramping in my hands and forearms. I live daily with pain, numbness, weakness and tingling in my back and both arms and legs. It's getting harder and harder to do even the simplest things like combing my hair...and the pain of climbing a set of stairs, well, I avoid it as much as possible. Does anyone else have hyperreflexia? I have it in all four extremities and my jaw. Because of it I was sent to a neurologist for fear of spinal cord damage or brain stem lessions. One small lession was found and a "slight" deformity in my cerivcal spinal cord. But it was determined that neither were serious enough to be of concern. Everything I read says that surgery should be done asap to prevent permanent damage to the spinal cord, but doctors tell me it's not serious enough yet to require surgery. So I wonder...how much more serious does it have to get...how much more pain and misery to I have to endure before it's considered bad enough to get help! Well, now that I've gotten all that off my chest....thank you all for being here. At least I know I'm not alone. Deb
Guest guest
The hyperflexia is not something that I live with {thank GOD}, at least I don't think so . I only have stenosis in my lumbar vertebrae L3, L4, & L5 I believe as well as Degenerative Disc Disease in most of my lumbar spine and osteoarthritis in both hips and knees. I SO identify with what both Debs said. It's so frustrating. Just HOW much pain and misery do you have to go through to get help? I've had these symptoms since I was 29 years old...that's 22 years of relentless pain. I tell you there have been many times I thought that I couldn't take one more minute. Only having my son and surviving for him has made a difference for me. I'm so angry at Drs right now. When I first started living with this pain and of course I went to the Dr. Nothing showed on the X- rays so they thought I was just making it up. Told me to put a hot pad on it and go back to work. They just didn't do MRI's routinely back then. It wasn't until FOUR YEARS ago that I got a Dr. to actually listen to me enough to order an MRI which said moderate to severe Stenosis and showed really significant degneration on several discs. What I don't understand and maybe one of you know, what in the world are we doing with stenosis at such at young age? All I've read says that Spinal Stenosis is a disease of the aged and here I was at the tender age of 29 bent over, stiff and in horrible pain. Anybody know? > Hi, > I too was diagnosed with spinal stenosis about a year ago.
