Guest guest
Hi , I'm doing much better in most respects. Had a wonderful 2-month remission last December. Cognitive functioning improved, but increased infection and damage to spine has increased my pain levels and decreased mobility. Go through good and bad cycles, but overall much better. has gone considerably downhill since his hospitalization in June of 2000. Have had a lot of scares and bad times since then. He is pretty much housebound and is not even active on the lists. I try to keep him informed as much as I can by printing relevant things out, or calling out from upstairs on the computer when something exciting comes across. (He can't get upstairs to the computer very often, and trying to type or read through everything is difficult.) Had another bad scare this past month and he is still in recovery mode. We have always been very proud of AmyRose, and even moreso now. She's the one shining spot in our life and has always helped us so much in any way she can. Her willingness to go to Gettysburg in the very beginning when we knew we couldn't go gave us a lot of hope. We definately feel like we " were there. " Hearing from her now (she's still in Gettysburg), has given us even more hope for the future! She will be an active voice for Lyme long after we are unable to carry on. She only knew us (with Lyme) before this trip, and was eager to learn more. Meeting everyone, learning from the people who have been so active in this fight for so long has been an eye-opening experience for her. She has learned so much that we could never teach her, and she will use her singing talents from here on to accomplish that goal. That, plus taking time out from her own family here, makes us very grateful. (She is married, cares for her 8-year-old step-daughter full-time (her husband travels two weeks at a time), and has acquired new responsibilities taking turns caring for her husband's newly widowed grandmother who has Alzheimers. She's learning a lot about that, too, now.) This trip took a bit of juggling, but lots of people were willing to help out! So glad you're back on. Can't wait to hear more from you! Guest guest
but increased infection and damage to spine has increased my pain levels and decreased mobility ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Rose, I am sorry to hear that your " sweetie " is doing so poorly, please let him know that he is in my prayers. I pray that you will continue on an upward swing, too. Your statement I copied above about damage to your spine really hit home, I am going through that also. Would you mind elaborating more on it. Your can write me privately or post it. Take care! Your Lyme Friend, from across the pond : )
