This is important for two reasons. 1) This address will ALWAYS find me. 2) When something comes to this address I can instantly tell that it concerns Lyme Aid. Sending email to my private address, while welcomed, may result in delays or confusion. I hope everyone has a great weekend! We are aware of a small previous study done showing that T4 worked better taken at night. Patients slept better and felt better the following day, but I would like to read about these Dutch studies. Underactive thyroid....Recent Dutch studies have found that levothyroxine should be taken at Bedtime NOT morning, allowing higher thyroid hormone concentrations and better absorbtion in the body. The T4 first needs time to convert to T3 for it to become effective, this takes a long time. To me, this new info. is exciting and vital and should be widely known.... Guest guest Posted February 29, 2012 Report Share Posted February 29, 2012 Thanks for that Carol.My wife has recently changed (17 February) to taking T4 at 2200 instead of before breakfast.We have noticed a significant change. She now wakes up without palpitations and is calm !Sleep quality is improved, things are looking good.Still gets tired sometimes pm and has a snooze, this has not, thus far stopped sleep overnight.Time alone will tell.We were alerted to this by a post by Sheila quoting Shalom's site and decided to give it a go.Glad we did.Odd that such a simple change can have such an effect, sad that Doctors do not think to suggest it to those having trouble.That is the very purpose of this site and thank heaven we found it.
