Guest guest
My Dr. took me off everything that I had been put on when I was Dx'd in Jan. He had to because of some underlying medical conditions due to one of the drugs. I went into remission during this time. The thing is I have been off the meds since May. I had a bad head cold about a week ago. Now I am having the achiness back. My back is sore and I'm getting " very cranky " per my kids. They say to take a happy pill. Two of my fingers feel like they don't want to move and I'm loosing hand strength. Am I deceiving myself thinking that this is a result of the head cold? I was hoping the remission would last longer Stacey
Guest guest
It takes quite a while for the medications to start working so we shouldn’t be surprised that they keep working even after we stop taking them. However, it is a long time since May. You should call your doctor to see what instructions you are given. Unfortunately, with RA nothing seems to happen very fast except damage to joints. We have to be patient with our treatments and also be aggressive so that permanent joint damage does not happen. I hope you and your doctor can come up with something to get you back to a controlled state. God bless. Guest guest
Dear Stacey- All it takes is a lowered immune system to trigger your RA. It really is just that easy. That is how I got mine in the first place. Start taking your core meds without a biologic and if you arent improved, use a biologic. Being there for your kids is the most important thing as well as having low pain and good mobility.
