To my knowledge, no one has actually studied the comparative affects of a proper chelation regime by itself versus in-conjunction with sauna usage. That being said, there are studies and articles showing reduced levels of heavy metals with sauna alone, and others showing greater efficacy of antibiotics with Lyme Disease patients who use saunas. A doctor who runs a " natural " cancer clinic in Germany told me they dramatically reduce their new patient's chemo dosage and have them sauna bathe routinely. The key to both the Lyme findings and the cancer observation is apparently that the cellular delivery system of both the chemo drug and the antibiotic is increased dramatically due to the sauna causing a 2-3 fold increase in blood flow rates. Similarly, the rate of insulin uptake & delivery is increased substantially with diabetics using saunas after injection. The key to the German finding is that the chemo was reduced to levels where it was equally as effective as before but the side effects were obviously reduced along with dosage. This is not advice. " Oxygen saunas " are used in Europe with some cancer treatments to utilize the sauna-induced dramatic increase in blood flow to deliver oxygen more effectively to cells. I can only presume from this that chelators might work more effectively as well with sauna use. On one hand, an effective chelator dose may be able to be lowered if followed by sauna. On the other hand, the sauna might enhance metal mobilization and the higher dose might be needed. There's probably a best general chelation/sauna regime for most people but studies have not yet spelled this out. My opinion, if it were me, would be to proceed cautiously.
