Sue,

Am I safe in assuming (without seeing the article)

that it said that there is a study that believes it

can be transmitted? I have heard through the nurses &

docs at my LLMD that it can go from male to female,

but not sure about the other way. I don't know what

they are basing it on, but they were fairly certain it

could be. Anyway, do you mind sharing what the

article says about it?

Thanks,

Jeannie

Yes, Robyn...I have softened my statement in another

post as you have pointed out here it should be. Let

me clarify a few more points...

I don't think sex is the culpret...so, don't

worry...you can still have sex!!! Everyone can calm

down now...ok?

I never meant to say it was an STD, but someone who

wanted to know asked (paraphrased), " Can you get it

sexually from a female to a male partner? " and the

answer is yes...it is possible under very certain

circumstances (during initial high fever). If I were

not responding to a direct question of someone else, I

certainly wouldn't have implied having sex with

someone with LD will get you LD.

During the initial high fever my partner had, she was

sweating, had the chills, was breathing heavy and very

very INFECTED....with something! Didn't know what it

was at the time. She was really really sick. We were

lying in bed, naked under the covers and I was trying

to keep her warm...she was breathing into my mouth

lying on her side. My sweat glads were touching her

sweatglands full body...who knows HOW it made the

leap? At that time the disease is contagious somehow,

ok? This is the key time which has caused at least

two LLMD's in the world (prominant Texan, mine and

perhaps some others) and a few individuals (me and I'm

sure a few others) to believe it can be

contagious...but if that high fever were the

flu...THAT would be contagious as well! Big deal.

This is no big surprise or leap of faith! I've had LD

several times over the last five years for much of

that time and never given it to my sexual partner...or

come close to it either...nor do any of the two LLMD

believers consider LD an STD...I don't think (I better

put that on there or I'll get in trouble!)

Cheers,

-Jeff L.

ps: Just be careful...as I should have been no matter

what she was infected with!!!

I am the one who asked this question & I am finding it

humorous (even though it is not funny at all) how many

emails, comments, opinions, arguments, funny comments,

have taken place in regard to this particular

question. I am glad that I asked it, if for nothing

else, but to see all the emails!! (although I do

really want to know!!)Thanks for all of your

thoughts/opinions!! Any additional info is

welcome!!:)

You know the easiest thing since we aren't for sure that it can be

passed by sex is this. None of us ever have sex again. I will go

first.

I do hereby swear in poor mind and health that I will never ever have

sex again.

All I have to say is that if I passed this onto my

husband, not only would I be devastated at his

condition, but we would also be in big trouble

financially & all-around, since I am unable to work,

even part-time-it is already tough, physically,

financially, mentally & emotionally, as you all know,

and we have children, too. The possibility of him

getting from me is very scary to me!

Because we really do not know the answer to that of sexuall transmission we

use condoms, oral sex is unherd of anymore as saliva may be a culprit too.

Better to be safe than sorry

that my thoughts were on the right & logic track!
