Guest guest
Olive oil and lmon juice with salt makes a perfectly nice dressing. Also I have found that grapeseed oil or coconut oil is even nicer instead of olive. Health food shops will have yoghurt without added sweetener, if you don’t like the taste you can sweeten it with stevia and cinnamon, yum! New to Group Hi Everyone, I have recently figured out that I have a bad case of this stuff. I was wondering if anyone has used the natural ways of ridding themselves of oral thrush, like the baking soda and water. Does it work? How long does it take. I started a diet a couple of weeks ago but quite honestly, not doing too well. Trying to find a well balanced diet is hard. It seems the more I read, the more confused I get. No two do's and don'ts are the same. I have cut out all sweets, breads-eat salad with raw onions but I do cheat on that, I do use a small amount of dressing. I still drink coffee, but only two cups a day. I also eat one to two cups of yogurt a day. I can't find plain yogurt, so I eat the vanilla flavored. Is yogurt with out the big clumps of fruit okay? Any help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Laurie
Guest guest
Thank you, it is difficult. The hardest part for me is not changing my eating habits, but finding the right foods to eat. It will take time and finding the right balance. One thing I have noticed though is that the oral thrush is taking on a dingy brown color. I am hoping this means it is going away but at this point I am not going to get my hopes up. Just wait and see what happens. Thank you again for the tips. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Welcome to my world re the Oral Thrush!! Isn't it awful? But you have to treat your digestion problems to get rid of it totally. I have spent the last 4 months trying to just get rid of the oral thrush alone, but to no avail. I have had anti-fungals from the doctors and taken various probiotics. But that is not curing the underlying cause of my oral thrush. I'm now focussing on healing my leaky gut which is what caused the oral thrush in the first place. I think once i have healed that then i'll treat the candida then!! Guest guest
Hi , Yes I had trouble concieving too, it took two years! I also had irregular cycles, that was a real pain, every month I just knew I was late because I was finally pregnant, lol! I wasted sooo much money on home preg. tests! As soon as I was about to give up, it happened. I vividly remember buying that last test thinking " here goes another wasted 10 bucks " . When I saw the results I couldn't believe it. I had to keep pulling it out of the trash to make sure I wasn't mistaken, lol. I'm glad to hear your OBGYN is in tune with Hypo, your lucky cause they will have to keep track of your levels much more. As your weight etc changes, they may have to adjust your meds. My OBGYN and Endo did a lot of corresponding during my pregnancy. Lucky for me, my Endo had taught my OB and his father in med school, so my OB was excited to network with him. Since they new eachother, they also didn't charge me the networking fees. (I don't get many lucky breaks). Hang in there, give the meds a couple months to get all your levels etc right and it will happen. Hugs,
Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry to hear that you are growing through this!! I don't think most people realize how difficult this can be. Yes, I too had a very hard time getting pregnant. At the time, the doc did not know I had thyroid problems because it was borderline and fluctuated. He did pick up on low progesterone wich wasn't real treatable at the time. Give yourself a chance to address the thyroid and heal. With a tsh of 20 the change will be significant. For me, all it took was some time (3 years in all because of a miscarriage, and a year to heal). But I did have a healthy baby. Then I went on regular thyroid med and had no problems with the second baby. I, too, was sick for 6 months straight with both children. Sorry, I wish there was a cure for that. Decaffinated iced tea was a little helpful. Sherry > Hi my name is . I was just diagnosed last week with having > Hypothyroidism. I found out after having some blood work done. Guest guest
Yes It can still be lyme, I have had it for almost 8 years and after testing negative for one of the co infections 3 years ago I recently got retested and it was positive. Make sure you get tested for Elichiosis, babebasia, isitlyme <isitlyme@...> wrote:Hello. I am new here. I would like to find out if I could still have Lyme disease. Guest guest
I can relate to the sugar cravings! I can also say that after two months of not having any sugar I still missed it. For me it's the star bucks coffee's and sugary drinks like Mountain Dew I love. The sugar cravings do subside the longer you go without it. I did a test for two weeks having a star bucks coffee or two a day and it brought a lot of back pain and other problems. Since then I look at sugar like cigarettes, fun to have but shortens my life. I'm lucky in the fact that I never was a big eater (I wonder why?). I do miss eating certain foods but feeling healthy is far more important. The only thing else I can say is try your best. Don't be too hard on yourself if you cheat. You need to desire a healthy lifestyle! > New to Group > > Hi, ....clip... > > My biggest hurdle so far would be the emotional cravings for sugar. > I can deal with the physical, usually by eating some nuts or a > carrot. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Giving up the sweets is the hardest thing. I've been told twice now that constant cravings for sweets means the body is lacking in something nutritionally. Perhaps u should seek out an ND to answer that question or try to find the remedy online. There are times I can't even handle some fruits b/c they are too sweet for me now. Good luck with that : ) New to Group Hi, I thought it was about time I introduced myself to the group. I'm a 31 yr old mother of two from Australia, which has caused me a few problems sourcing some of the supplements etc that have been sugested. My story isn't all that different from others. At three weeks of age I was being fed solid foods because I couldn't suckle, and pretty much from then until the age of 5 when I had my tonsils out I was on antibiotics for ear infections, tonsilitis etc. Things really got worse when I fell pregnant with my first child, all treatments to date have only given me a temporary repreave from symptoms. I've been following a modified candidia diet, and I immediately noticed an increase in energy and mental alertness. But I've also become very moody. My biggest hurdle so far would be the emotional cravings for sugar. I can deal with the physical, usually by eating some nuts or a carrot. But the emotional side is harder to fight and it's also harder to sate. A couple of times I've given in, only to not enjoy what I was eating and still be left unsatisfied. I've noticed on those occassions that usually within a couple of hours of eating the sweet I become very irritable and easily angered. This could last 24hrs. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has to deal with this and what stratgies they've used to combat it. I've really gotton a lot from this group so far and I'd just like to say thanks. Guest guest
Jenni, You might also like to read the message just before this one, regarding " synthroid dosage " , to Mona. Your current dosage is quite small, and with a TSH that high, your Doctor should realize it's time to slowly increase your dose until the point where you feel well again. Guest guest
The doctor is right, you should not be on a diet pill. Your TSH is too high. Most people lose weight with T3 added. Try to learn more at http://www.thyroid.about.com Gracia > HI EVERYONE...I CANT GET POSTED FOR SOME REASON. Guest guest
1 April Y2K I had C5-6 discectomy and fusion. The pain was and still is in the back yet he went in through the front. I was informed the morning of the surgery how the procedure was to take place. Again I am 52 months post-op and still have the same pain, if not worse. My problems are spreading into my back so that now I am having sciatic nerve problems. I don't even want to get out of bed any more. Make sure of your surgeon, and talk to many different surgeons. Guest guest
Hi Rich. I havent had surgery yet, but it will be in the future. I will be having a L5-L6 fusion and a anterial cage from the front. If there was another way around this I would love to take it. I did put off surgery 3 yrs ago, due to that it wasnt necessary and I didnt want to do it, but now it is necessary and unless I want to walk the rest of my life then I will have it done. I do fear what you just wrote, because I want to rid myself of the pain or at least most of it. I have talked to people that have had back surgery done and some have done real well and then there are others who still have problems. > > I too may have to have anterior cervical > > fusion. Guest guest
I think that you have to have the right state of mind going in. Take all the P.T. that you can, don't be overweight like I am/was. I think that half of my problem today is because I am about 60-70 pounds over what I am comfortable at. I got hurt within months of when I quit smoking so I had a double whammy. Inactive and nothing to do with my hands/food tasting good. A vicious circle, catch 22. Now if I were to walk and/or exorcize and am seen by one of the private dics. that the insurance company has out looking, its such a pain in the neck )... Good luck, Rich > Hi Rich. Guest guest
I hear you there Rich, unfortunately I will have to quit prior to surgery, but it is good thing that you did. Nasty habit wouldnt you say. I would love for the insurance company to come out and spy on me, all they would see is a 37 yr old woman who walks like she is 80. I have lost 1 1/2 inches in height and now my body from the shoulders down slants to the right, I look like I am going to topple over. As for the weight. I have gained weight since they put me on rest that it drives me nuts. I can sit outside and pull weeds as long as I am careful, I can take a walk for about 10 min, so I would love to have them come and watch me > > Hi Rich. Guest guest
Hi Sandy and welcome. Like you I am scared to death too. http://www.umm.edu/spinecenter/education/anterior_cervical_fusion.html I found this site with a lot of information. My chiropractor told me I should get a discogram done first to make sure the disc are really causing the pain. The surgeon told me about it but said he thought it wasn't worth it for me to go through for it is painful and the fact that the nerve conduction test showed that is was bad. I don't know what to do either although I know I have until October before I will get on the schedule for it. I am hoping for answers before then. When are they planning yours? Guest guest
Joy I have had cervical discograms done 3xs. They are painful while it is being done. It doesn't take long to do. And the pain lasts for about 24hrs. It is worth having it done. The pain is not as bad as your regular pain. Marsha
Guest guest
Joy You have movement after a cervical fusion. It's just limited. I really don't notice the difference. My first surgery relieved the pain. The next one on a different level didn't. Marsha
