Guest guest
> Well, I was tested + for LD in Jan 2000, was given 3 weeks of amox, > retested dr said it was gone. ( 2.07, IGM-2 out of 3, IGG 7 out > of 10, RETESTED AT IGM 1 of 3, IGG 7 of 10 made me turn negative) Your IGM being 2 of 3 should be a poss( For the first test), as well as the IGG showing 7 of 10 being poss.Second test you are still poss with the IGG still remaining 7 of 10. You dont need to be poss in both IGG and IGM in the same test to be poss, as long as one ( IGG or IGM )has the nessessary bands shown, it is considered poss. Also, this test is standardized by the CDC, so 1 or 2 Lyme specific bands will be seen as a poss by an LLMD, even though the CDC calls it a neg, make sense? Not suprised you relapsed, 3 weeks is not nearly long enough, even if the Lyme is caught immediatly. Do you by chance have your Western Blot results? Can you list the bands so we can tell you what they are? went to a LLMD. Was on 1000mg Ceftin, 3 > weeks into it allergic reaction landed me in the hosp, steroids, > ipinefrine, benadryl, went back the 2nd nite same breathing probs, > more steroids, and benadryl injections, and sent home with a weeks > worth taking 40 mg prednisone per day, Are you sure you are seeing an LLMD? Are you sure you had an allergic reaction and not a huge herxheimer? they can look very similar. Did you know that Steroids are a Lymies worst enemy? They lower the immune system and allow the Lyme to flourish. Then LLMD weaned me onto > Zithro 500mg, was on it for 6 months, I stopped taking abx all > symptoms gone except for this lingering 'arthritis' like pain that > crawls in, from my hips to feet, cant hardly walk, lasts approx 3 > hrs. Comes and goes, doesn't matter the weather. I stayed on the Zith > for an extra 2 months, didn't relieve any of the arthritis like > pains. Zith is good, as is Ceftin, but they cause huge Herx's. In my opinion a true LLMD would not let you go off antibiotics untill your symptoms cleared, especially arthritis type ones. Allergist tested allergic to Penicillin, been sick here and > there now allergic to All Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Macrolides, > and now Cipro. Dont know about testing Lymies for allergies to these meds. Still worried that you are having Herx's and not allergies, but I may be wrong here. probably am ) Is there a link (i would guess there's got to be) > with the LD and all of my new found antibiotic allergies?? Have no clue, but there are others on this list with more knowledge than I. Does > these arthritis symptoms sound like the 'lyme arthritis' or something > else? I would think that you are still infected and these are still Lyme symptoms. If they are, then you need further treatment or they may get worse. I was fairly sick with the LD, having 8 months of being ill/URI > bronchitis etc before anyone decided to take blood work, exhausted, > exreme light sensitivity, anxiety, depression, literally was going to > go insaine, (not a good feeling when you know you will literally) Again, I would make sure this is a true LLMD and not a Dr that knows of Lyme and tries to treat. this may sound strange, but not all Drs can/will/do treat Lyme correctly. > LLMD thinks I had it for 2 yrs or so and was shocked I was not sicker > than I was after she saw my test results. > Any help/info/sites to see would be great. > Thanks again to you all! > - , if you have possibly had Lyme for 2 or more years, then you need more abx, your 8 or 9 months isnt going to cut it. Please make sure you are seeing an LLMD. Take care, post back with more questions if you need to, pepi
Guest guest
In a message dated 1/13/01 4:58:52 AM, conniek@... writes: << that many of our symptoms are from an imbalance of good and bad bacterias, yeast, brain chemistry, hormones, etc........... imbalances will continue to cause symptoms.... >> - I will have to disagree with Connie and the above message somewhat. Yes, antibiotics are not 'good' for us but they are necessary until one is so much better with symptoms, then switch to all natural remedies. If one takes good care of their immune system (take vitamins as well as minerals, etc), take acidopholius, keep things in balance, then there will not be a problem). I think it is a HUGE misconception that antibiotics destroy our immune system, maybe they do a bit, but I have been on abx for 2yrs., 3months and I have not been sick once. I don't mean to sound trite but if my immune system has been compromised than I would be sick many times over. I have 6kids that are sick at many different times and I have been exposed. Another point that has not been mentioned is, have you been tested for the co-infections of babesia and ehrlichia??? There is also a new one I just heard about called " bartonella " (from Dr. I truly believe also that if you really want to learn about any disease, GO to the people that are suffering with it and ask them what it is like. I have communicated with over 2,500 people so far and when I hear the same story over and over, I conclude " this is from lyme I will bet you " . Why not?? I have heard it hundreds of times, i.e., that people have swollen lymph nodes, nobody can tell them what is causing it. Sounds like infection, either viral or bacterial, possibly bacterial, possibly borellia bacteria or lyme?????? I am not saying that yeast does not cause symptoms, I used to be the queen of yeast infections. I think we all have to listen to our bodies and listen to each other. I would (and did) follow someone whom has been successful in treatment and now I have achieved 99% good health. I was a mess, like many-- could not walk, severe p ain, migraines, extreme dizziness ( could not stand up, would fall over), ringing ears so bad-could not hear,e tc. you all know the picture. Chronic lyme is long-term treatment no matter how you look at it; it is not strep throat. It is a whole body experience, not just a gallbladder or brain, etc. Just my 2 cents worth. sue in nj
Guest guest
It could still be active in your system...........but I also feel that our immune systems get so broken down from the abx........that many of our symptoms are from an imbalance of good and bad bacterias, yeast, brain chemistry, hormones, etc........... imbalances will continue to cause symptoms...............give yourself about 2-3 months...........and see if you can rebuild your system.............naturally............rest, vitamins, herbs, good sleep........good foods (stay away from all sugar, breads, pastas).......also.take plenty of acidophilus through out the day........to build up the good bacteria in your system...........if after that time...you see NO improvement.........than I would make a visit to my LLMD again......Connie Leave no stone unturned.......
