Is the staturte of limitations 1 year from the date of the onset of symptoms? If so, most of us are screwed. I've had my symptoms 15 years and it has only been since last summer that I suspected them to be lyme and actively pursued diagnosis and treatment. Still am not being treated with appropriate amts of abx, so off to a nother dr next month, in another state. The first one I approached about the possibility of lyme sat way back in his chair and smiled while he told me that even if they did do a test and it came back neg., I didn't have lyme, to which I disagreed. He then went on to tell me that even if it did come back pos, it still didn't mean I had it. I insisted on a WB be done by Igenex. They literally threw the lab slip at me. When my WB came back equivocal, I was told I didn't have lyme. All the while, no one even made mention of maybe investigating what else it *might* be if they were so sure it wasn't lyme. I handed them a packet of information which they took unenthusiastically. I don't think I was acting hysterical or anything. My daughter had just been diagnosed, and we started putting my symptoms together and realized that that was probably what has been going on with me over the past 15 years. I went in asking to have lyme ruled out. I went to a LLMD that had moved out here from NJ, who diagnosed me after running the LUAT, but he won't prescribe anything more than bicillin 1.2 mil units once a month and zith. 250mg a day. Needless to say, I have had to response.

I went to my daughter's dr who wouldn't diagnose because the symptoms go back so far and my history is kind of vague now, although I have and have had almost every one of the symptoms on Dr. B's guidelines. So I NOW have an appt. with a LLMD in SF on May 1 who was recommended by Nick of Igenex, and I sure hope that he will at least give me an adequate trial of abx. I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong that is telling these drs that I'm a flake or something. I do go in with a symptom list, which is quite long. I listen to what they have to say, add what I believe, but am beginning to think that mayvbe I am being perceived as someone who WANTS to have lyme disease! NOT.... I just want to feel better. My mental state is becoming increasingly worse and I feel like maybe I should just forget the whole thing and spend these bucks on paying off my bills and travel while I can. I'm sorry to go on like this, but I am so terribly frustrated and discouraged. I don't see how any of this is cause for a lawsuit, however. I am close to that suicidal feeling that I have had before and is so difficult to overcome once I'm there. Yes, I see and therapist, and I do have safety measures to take. Maybe I'm just on the pity pot, and maybe I'm entitled right now.

The human spirit is stronger than anything that canhappen to it.

That is a great idea except that there isn't a medical expert out there that is board certified that can testify how our current condition is because of Lyme disease. Most "experts" believe quite the opposite and just like what happened to my friend that had a bull's eye rash and went to the doctor while it was there and told it was a spider bite he lost... because the doctors said what is happening to him is not all Lyme disease meanwhile it is a total lie.

We will need to find a board certified infectious disease doctor that will begin to testify that what is happening to us is caused by Lyme and that an earlier diagnosis would have prevented chronicity.

there is a one

year statue of limitation from the point of knowlege...YOU

GOTTA ACT FAST...do it....the dominoe effect will occur.for change......DO

IT...

I was thinking

about suing my primary care doctor but now after reading the above statement,

it may be to late. He was a doctor

I saw for 10 years and when I presented my rashes (1 month after bite) he

diagnosed dermatitis. I went to

this guy every month for nine months.

Each time with a new lyme symptom.

He kept saying I was depressed because I was middle aged, blah, blah,

blah. For nine months, he never

did a blood test, never assumed anything except depression. After nine months of this, I insisted

that he test me. he fought me, and

didn’t want to run the tests I asked for, including a lyme test. I was really lucky to come back

positive, although it didn’t matter because he had no idea how to treat late

stage lyme.

Now my question,

this all took place from the summer of 1998 through may of 1999. in June of 1999, I found a real doctor

and left this jerk. But, I thought

I would be cured. NOT! Ok, is it too late for me to sue this

jerk. I am such a neurological

mess, and have a seizure disorder, all from lyme, along with all the other

problems lyme causes.

Hey Roe,

Your story is exactly as mine - same thing- mine was for 8 or 9 months and I

was told I was depressed - the whole thing and they would not teat me. Then I

found a LLMD. I thought of suing also but was always oo sick to act. My

daughter and son in law are lawyers; I will ask them. I thought you had more

than one year. I will check. KIM
