White population is 45% O, 40% A, 11% B and 4% AB. 15% of these groups are Rh negative, 85% are Rh positive. Blacks are very similar, with 49% group O, American Indians are 79% Group O. O Positive is therefore, the most common type of blood. These statistics come from my laboratory Blood Bank book. Hope this info helps, Peg in No. Calif.
