Hello Everyone,

A few days ago I asked what people thought about attachments here on .

I only had one objection to not allowing them to go through. And two specific

approvals for not allowing them. With that and the latest virus to be floating

around ( see http://abcnews.go.com/sections/tech/DailyNews/virus000527.html ) I

have decided to not allow attachments to be sent through . The egroups

setting now says, " Attachments sent with an email will be removed " .

I really don't believe this will cause anything more than an occasional mild

inconvenience for some people. Just about everything can be inserted directly

into an email these days, it does not need to be " attached " . If for some reason

you have an attachment that must get though, and you cannot insert it into an

email, please let me know. I will probably advise you to send it to me and I

will insert it into an email message for you. Please notify me first. Any

attachments I get are usually deleted right away.

I hope you all know this is not done to annoy anyone. These viruses (and worms)

are a serious threat to all computer users. My computer is very important to

me, as I imagine yours is to you, and I want to limit my " exposure " as much as

possible. List servers like egroups and are perfect for getting

viruses sent to as many people as possible. And it has happened here in the

past. I hope you all understand!

Thank you,

Robynn
