Of the 23 students on board, six students and the two drivers were taken to the hospital. Another parent took her child to the hospital separately.Four passersby came to the scene to help pull students out of the blazing bus. The bus was number 9601 from North n Middle School and North n High School. Fifteen to twenty students were onboard.Six other children and two adults, the bus driver, Anzoria -, and the truck driver, Reinaldo , were taken to a local hospital. A seventh child was taken by a parent.The accident happened along US-301 near Citra about 4 p.m. Danenhower said bystanders were pulling students off the bus and rushing them to safety.n County Superintendent of Schools Jim Yancey said at least four bystanders entered the burning bus, rescuing the children from the flames."I'd say they probably got half the kids off the bus themselves," Yancey said. "They were showing more grief and remorse from not being able to do more."Video from the scene showed the bus was charred from back to front. The truck hit it from behind and pushed it nearly 200 feet down the road. Witnesses said the bus was stopped and its flashing lights were on and stop sign out. The cab of the truck was obliterated. , who was at her mother's farm nearby, said she and several visitors heard what she first thought were gunshots, only they were too powerful."We were looking at each other like 'What the heck was that?"' she told the newspaper.
