Guest guest
Hi all, We are finally settled in our tiny base housing in Germany. It is very beautiful over here and we have been able to start taking a few day trips on the weekends ( I let my husband do most of the driving because the autobahn still scares me). I am hoping to do much more. I still don't know a lick of German, but I am starting to get the money down...great exchange rate now (2.20 to the dollar as of today)...this is very good for shopping. I am so glad to finally have internet access again, I have really missed you all and reading the daily messages. We have a different ISP now, but we kept our AOL acct., so we can still receive mail at the same address. Sounds like a lot has been happening since I left in Aug. and I have a lot of catching up to do. The move took a lot out of me and I have had an increase in problems. The leg tremors have gotten so bad they actually wake me some nights and they have now spread to my head (luckily this isn't to bad yet). I am having more problems with pain when I walk or stand for to long and the front part of my feet actually start to go numb. I think my general circulation has gotten worse, or at least it feels that way. I am hoping that this is all just a big flare and as we settle in more my body will settle down. My primary DR sent me to a leading German Neurologist and he did more test (he is the first dr to do an EEG and I had plenty of tremors for him...I hope it shows on this test). I still don't h ave any results back and I have no idea what he has planned. Pretty much all he said to me is " you present a very interesting and challenging case " , I am not sure if that statement bodes well for his final DX, oh yeah, he also asked me which version of lyme did I have the American or German (for some bazaar reason I found this amusing).....ticks are very bad here, too. I will keep you posted. Hopefully now that we are starting to get back into some kind of routine I will be able to start conversing more. If anyone is a night owl look for me online because we are 6 hours ahead of eastcoast time. I am trying to setup the AOL IM so that I can get my buddy list back up and running. I have really missed you all and am so glad to be back with you. I hope to talk more soon. Your Lyme Friend, in Stuttgart, Germany P.S. How is Marta doing ?
