Guest guest
I know Buhner says that he had to put things in the book that were really well-tested for Lyme, whereas outside it he may recommend other things or be more free in what he says. I've only used pau d'arco as an antiyeast treatment (before Lyme). Could it be that it is having a good effect on you because it is killing yeast? What does it do for Lyme, specifically? I have used it most effectively as a tea or tincture, as well. Guest guest
Where are you getting your bark? Thanks. > > I've had very good feelings from Pau d'arco decoction in the last few days. > I've taken Pau d'arco pills for a year or more without noticing a very big effect from them. Guest guest
I agree on the positive effects of Pau d' acro tea, its almost like taking an asprin for a headache. It is only a transit relief but I take any relief I can get. [ ] Pau d'Arco decoction I've had very good feelings from Pau d'arco decoction in the last few days. I've taken Pau d'arco pills for a year or more without noticing a very big effect from them. Finally i switched to the tea; boil the ground bark for at least 20 minutes, 3 Tablespoons per quart--- does that make it a tea or a decoction? I don't know for sure what's the cause of these good feelings; it could be other things; but coinciding with the tea, the head feels really clearer, freer; not so full of junky woozy feelings like usually. Head feels at times almost symptom free; not all the time, but that is a major improvement. I don't know why Pau d'arco and Lomatium aren't included in Buhner's book. Why not? ----purple
Guest guest
I am wondering about this also. Buying it at the local herb store is quite expensive. > > > > I've had very good feelings from Pau d'arco decoction in the last > few days. > > I've taken Pau d'arco pills for a year or more without noticing a > very big effect from them. Guest guest
http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/search/search.php?keywords=Pau Mountain Rose Herbs is a great source for Pau D'Arco, and the prices seem to be very reasonable. I think I'm going to invest in this remedy myself, for my whole family. Molly ;~) > > I am wondering about this also. Guest guest
For me, far best than decoction or capsules is the tincture of pau d'arco (home made is fine). Many of the chemical components of pau d'arco are NOT soluble in water (check rain tree site for info), so no matter if I did a 20 or 30 minute decoction for weeks, the effect of pau d'arco tea had nothing to do with the tincture. I guess the decoction helps on cleansing somehow, but if one is looking for killing effects, the tincture is far superior (I garantee, own experience). I bought it from raintree and did my own decoctions following their instructions (with vodka). Very unexpensive and according to my naturopath's energetic tests, it does get borrelia cysts as well as candida. It's one of my favorite killers, alongside with Buhner's herbs.
