Guest guest
Hi, all, I would like your feed-back on my friend. She is 80 yrs old, she has congestive heart failure. Recently she experienced weakness and numbness in her arms and legs. This is listed by Jane Brody in her recent New York Times article as a possible Lyme symptom. Along with that she is experiencing great fatigue. She was, in her younger days, a very active person - hiking, etc, so has been exposed to the tick. A few years ago, she had the tests which the dr and the hospital concluded were negative. I told her that a negative means nothing. As far as I know, false positive is rare, but false negative is maybe 50% of the time. So she has decided to get tested again, and this time I can help her interpret the numbers. We know that heart is also affected by Lyme. But her question, how does one know for sure? I guess the answer is - one doesn't- If anyone has any feed-back I'd appreciate it and share with her. thanks. ellen btw, I haven't been here for a while, so hello to all. I am still doing well, with no re-appearance of symptoms. wish you all well.
