Guest guest
Selma, Finette, What about the chemistry of putting 1 tsp of ground Pau d'arco powder into my Health Soup? Will there be enough chemical reactions in the gut to make the active ingredients, lapachol or whatever, absorbable, instead of leaching them into alcohol? It's simpler, more direct and quicker than going through the indirect alcohol route. I do have intestinal candida, and i read that candida produces acetylaldehyde which the liver converts to alcohol. Is there any chance that the lapachol, etc,. could be soluble in acetylaldehyde? I couldn't taste it, along with everything else. Is it hard on the liver or anything to eat so much powder? If i eat 1 tsp 3 x/day? Thank you, merci, purple.
Guest guest
My opinion, Purple, is that any alcohol in contact with Lapacho (pau d'arco) will release the alcohol-soluble chemicals. But if this contact lasts only for a few minutes or hours (the time digestion takes place), it won't be as effective as letting it sit in an alcoholic solution (and shaking the bottle daily) for a month. Get what I mean? Maybe you'll get about 1-5% of the efficiency of a normal tincture? (just a guess). It is a bark, and it's hard, even if in powder, it needs time for leaking its chemicals (therefore tinctures take time to be prepared). I let my bathing in alcohol for 6 weeks. But take early draws when needed. Selma > > Selma, Finette, > What about the chemistry of putting 1 tsp of ground Pau d'arco powder into my Health Soup?
