Guest guest
Good question -- which makes me question whether I have Babesia. My iron, Hgb and ferritin levels are normal. From all the responses in this group, and the thyroid and adrenal issues groups in which I'm a member, it seems that there are many reasons for air hunger (low thyroid and low cortisol being two). I understand that Lyme is very hard on the adrenal glands, and low functioning adrenal glands can cause air hunger as a symptom. Not sure if this helpful, but I've had so many varied responses, that I thought I'd share them. --Robyn > > Question for air hunger people.... > How are your iron levels....? Guest guest
Couple comments: are you talking about the new genospecies being found here in the US, Borrelia bissettii? Also, I went to Dr Burrascano's talk and heard him mention that all Lyme patients have co-infections, but I don't think I do - I think I just have Lyme from a tick bite in Big Sur, CA in 1981. I do have some air hunger, but no other babesia symptoms and no positive babesia test, so I am thinking I must have air hunger from Lyme. - Robin [ ] Re: Air hunger? > > DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU WERE BITTEN- > you can sometimes determine the likelihood of one or others of the > co-infections. Is this in the US, and what Bb version is it? We in Europe already have multiple Bb versions to deal with, and some of those have very different properties (but allopathic medicine uses the same treatment for all of them). The Lyme symptom lists are unreliable IMHO; many people probably have undetected coinfections (Burrascano recently said all his patients have tick coinfections?). So what is reported as a Borrelia (lyme) symptom might as well be from an unidentified coinfection, and the other way round probably. > ILADS doctors do pay attention to this. I justed checked symptoms for Bart infection, and every ILADS doc seems to have his/her own list, with little overlap; they cannot be talking about the same infection... Treatment similar story. > How much this matters to our primarily herbal protocol is quite a guess - I > imagine not much, as plants work differently than pharms, which are > engineered to target specific " items " . > Still, it can be useful to know in terms of overall progress an well being. Yes, the herbs mostly target the disease manifestation (based on symptoms), while allopathic drugs supposedly target the 'cause', if it can be found (based on bloodtests, first of all). The truth is probably somewhere in between, e.g. many ABX have anti-inflammatory actions just like some of the Buhner herbs.
