Timing of herbal meds

I was talking over the weekend with the nutritionist who helped me out

so much when I was so ill with Cdiff. I was keeping her updated on my

dealings with Lyme & glaucoma. Re the Lyme, I told her what I was

taking (Samento & Dr Weiss's Special Formula Prima Una de Gato) & that I

had taken Artemisinin for a month until my liver values went up & I

stopped it (my LLMD was unaware that this could happen!).

Anway she said it was her understanding that when taking herbals, it

should be on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule. I've never heard of that

here. I am skeptical. On the other hand it might be the right way to go

with something like Artemisinin which does have that unwanted side effect.

Any thoughts?
