Guest guest
Crystal- I used Ivermectin (Stromechtol) and I think it made a difference. The problem was that there were so many of them in my living space that the one's that it got rid of were immediately replaced by thousands more. I would feel them start going crazy (especially on and in my ears for some reason) about 1 hour after taking it but then everything would go back to (ab)normal about 2 days later. I really think it can work if used properly in a clean environment but I didn't have that luxury unfortunately. I read that study that Cyndi posted about using Ivermectin and Tetracycline together and it sounded like it stopped them from being able to reproduce which is always a good thing. My doctor prescribed it to me after I told him about it and he researched it and said that long term use could affect your digestive tract by killing off too many beneficial bacteria so you may want to take some sort of acidophilus or jarro-dophilus supplements to replace the beneficial bacteria. But that's just me... Have a great day- som > > everyone, > > can anyone tell me their results from using ivermectin?? > > i was thinking about trying it..but dont know if i should or where to get it.. > > i think i read once here about taking it from a horse place... > > any info would be greatly appreciated. > > crystal >
Guest guest
Crystal- the easiest place in the world to get it is at a horse place or any big garden supply store. It is really cheap too. Just need to calculate the amount to take based on your body weight and the concentration given on the container. I bought a syringe full for about $5 and it contained about 10gr at 1.87% concentration which calculates to about 187 mg of ivermectin. If you figure the regular iver pill is 3 mg thats about 62 pills for 5 bucks. I mixed it with pretrolatum and applied it on our dog. (Have to be careful on the concentration too). As far as taking it, I personally haven't noticed any real difference although I haven't been bothered much by mites under my skin. My wife says that it really killed the ones inside her skin. She still takes a pill a day which is really a low dosage. Good luck! Guest guest
MM, Hello I was curious about your wife taking a low dose everyday. Does it help? I am really curious about this as I have considered it but didn't want to waste it if its not helpful. Does she experience any side effects? I get headaches, constipation, joint aches, esp. my knees after a 12mg dose. Thank you.manymites <jsrd@...> wrote: I've been takin the pills I bought from Magicp until I run out, thenplan to switch to taking it orally.MM> > >> > > everyone,> > >> > > can anyone tell me their results from using> > ivermectin??> > >> > > i was thinking about trying it..but dont know if i> > should or where> > to> > get it..> > >> > > i think i read once here about taking it from a> > horse place...> > >> > > any info would be greatly appreciated.> > >> > > crystal> > >> >> >> >>>>>__________________________________________________________\____________> Looking for last minute shopping deals?> Find them fast with Search.http://tools.search./newsearch/category.php?category=shopping> Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
My wife hasn't experienced any side effects from taking 1ea.3mg pill a day. On a side note, I was taking about 3000 mg of MSM for a week and then stopped. After a couple of days of not taking the MSM I started having knee pain for about 3 to 4 days. I took a couple of MSM pills for about 3 more days to help with the pain. I then stopped the MSM pills and have no pain on my joints. I'm not sure if the pain was related to the MSM overdose but I think it was related to cold stopping the MSM. I don't know if you have been taking MSM pills or not but thought I would share it with you just in case. Guest guest
MM, When our house was infested and I was getting bit all the time my joints killed me I'm not sure if that has to do with MSM or Lyme disease. Crystal- Did you joints bother you when you were diagnosed with Lyme disease? I never took the MSM, I only added it to lotion and wore it. I still do it. MSM is supposed to help your joints so stopping cold turkey would make sense as to what caused the pain. > > > > > > > > > > everyone, > > > > > > > > > > can anyone tell me their results from using > > > > ivermectin?? > > > > > > > > > > i was thinking about trying it..but dont know if i > > > > should or where > > > > to > > > > get it.. > > > > > > > > > > i think i read once here about taking it from a > > > > horse place... > > > > > > > > > > any info would be greatly appreciated. > > > > > > > > > > crystal > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________________\ > > ____________ > > > Looking for last minute shopping deals? > > > Find them fast with Search. > > http://tools.search./newsearch/category.php? > category=shopping > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with > Mobile. Guest guest
To SOM I read your post about taking ivermectin. How long is it safe to take and can you get it without a prescription. My husband has taken 1 round of stomactol which really helped but they came back after he mowed the yard and the second round does not seem to be helping as much. Would appreciate your thinking on this. JWW1931 Re: ivermectin Crystal- I used Ivermectin (Stromechtol) and I think it made a difference. Guest guest
Joan- I took about 6 rounds of Ivermectin- my doctor refused to keep giving it to me because he was afraid that it was going to kill off everything beneficial that I needed to process food and as he put it- I would be in " big trouble " healthwise which really scared the crap out of me esp. considering I thought I was in " big trouble " already! My experience with it was very encouraging at first because within an hour of taking it, I felt the mites having fits all over me and esp. around my ears and they really " lost it " when I would go outside and a breeze would hit me. My theory on the ear thing is that they were fleeing me and my earlobes were the furthest point on my head to " launch " from. But that's just me... The problem was, every time I went back in to my room where I was " re- attacked " (new word?) immediately and even worse than before... I really feel that Ivermectin can be very effective with this IF it's taken properly in a clean, hopefully " mite-free " environment. I read a very encouraging study done in Germany (I think) that " Cyndi " posted about using Ivermectin (which is also known as " Stromechtol " by the way) and tetracycline (antibiotic) in conjunction with one another on lab rats. The study concluded that the two things together stopped the reproductive cycle of these things where they still continued breeding but weren't able to produce eggs. (Could you post that again Cyndi if you read this and have time?) I am not a pharmacologist or microbiologist so I'm not going to even try to guess how it does this but the fact that it (the study) was done in a lab by scientists gave it credibility as far as I'm concerned. Cyndi is actually doing it so she will be able to tell you how it's affecting her. Cyndi also said that she gets her Ivermectin and tetracycline at feed and tack (horse) stores in injectible form which she takes orally so if you have one of those in your area you may be able to get it there. It goes by a different name when it's for horses so don't call them and ask them if they have Ivermectin because they don't know it by that name. (Cyndi can also help you with that I think.) FYI- I spoke to 2 different, experienced pharmacists who both said that there was NO difference between what he would give me and what they make for horses. I am taking " Paraclear " and doing body cleanses and trying to go the organic, natural route which has helped me tremendously which is why I haven't tried this treatment. When I asked my new doctor (Dr. Hugh ) if I could try this in combination with the natural stuff he's got me doing he advised me not to because he said the tetracycline would lower my immune system (eliminate white blood cells) and reverse the affects of everything I'm trying to accomplish naturally. However, if I were to ever take Ivermectin again- I wouldn't take it without tetracycline because of what I read in that study.... Another thing that I can suggest to you is trying to clean up EVERYTHING- Your environment (daily) and mostly the inside AND outside of your body. As I mentioned- I am cleansing my body (colon cleanse, yeast cleanse, heavy metals cleanse, full body cleanse) and replenishing it with ONLY things that are good for it and taking great care of my skin with ONLY natural, super healthy skin care products and I'm noticing that these things are being more affected by the other things that I'd been doing regularly all along but never really made a difference until now. Ex. using tea tree oil on my skin which makes it very smooth to the touch now and didn't before, etc. (Geez- I hope that makes sense!) These are only my opinions based on my own experiences- I hope it helps... Happy holidays, I'm praying for you............................ God bless you and your family- som > > > > everyone, > > > > can anyone tell me their results from using ivermectin?? > > > > i was thinking about trying it..but dont know if i should or where > to get it.. > > > > i think i read once here about taking it from a horse place... > > > > any info would be greatly appreciated. > > > > crystal > > >

Guest guest
I bought my iver at a big garden supply store. It's called Ivercare (for horses) and contains 7.30 gr of paste at 1.87%. It is enough to treat 1500 lb or a 150lb person 10 times. (The animal dose is the same for humans- 0.20mg/Kg of body weight. One easy way of calculating your dose is dividing your body weight by 11. ie 150lb/11=14 mg) This morning I took one dose of the paste orally and really felt a big difference. About an hour after taking it I mowed the lawn and sweated heavily, even went into the garage which I thought was really infested and didn't feel a thing..I later scrubbed my face with a wet cloth and it came out full of black specks! but this time I wasn't feeling anything at all, I guess they were all dead.. We've learned the hard way that for the Iver to be effective you have to take at least the recommended dose. My wife has been taking a lower dose and it really hasn't done much for her. I read that your body releases the Ivermectin through body sweat so I guess it helped me to sweat heavily after taking the Iver to help kill the bastards. That's my two cents. Guest guest
I have also noticed the same thing about exercise and Iver. I run, and I seem to have a better kill off when I run the day of and the day after Iver. Has anyone tried sauna-ing and Iver? Also, it has been recommended in another forum to refrain from bathing the day of and after Iver. The thinking was so as to not wash it off the surface of your skin resulting in a more effective dose. And, to drink grafefruit juice after taking Iver to prevent the liver from breaking down the Iver and resulting in more Iver available for a longer period in your system and out to your skin. (This can be dangerous to those on other meds for health conditions or insulin) Has anyone from this forum heard this or are doing this? How is it working for you? What a great post MM. manymites <jsrd@...> wrote: I bought my iver at a big garden supply store. It's called Ivercare (forhorses) and contains 7.30 gr of paste at 1.87%. Guest guest
Fritolay66- Yes drinking grapefriut juice will keep it in your system longer but you are right about other meds. Some of my 15 year olds meds say specifically not to drink grapefriut juice so you just need to check the other labels. MM- I'm so glad you had good results with the iver. Thanks for the info you gave us. I felt some tickling feeling on my work keyboard. I had to work over the weekend so I hosed my keyboard down with Windex and found black specks on my hands Saturday and Sunday while working. I had started eating some sugar but that scared me so I quit eating again. Keep up the fight everyone. Someone mentioned iver hurting their knee joints. My wife says the same thing but she still takes it because she wants this to be over for good. Guest guest
Hi Ray, I was never diagnosed w/lymes disease...i spent $200 for a test from IGENIX and it came back inconclusive...the dr in Salt Lake decided to treat me like i had it and put me on a course of Doxycyline and Metronidazole. It felt like it was really killing the bastards,,,,but the Doxy made me so sensitive to the sun that i could not go outside. So then we tried Amoxicilan---but that did nothing. So then I gave up the antibiotics...but yes---i definitely had lots of weird random joint pains. Crystal --- fritolay66 <fritolay66@...> wrote: > I have wondered about Lyme Disease lately. Guest guest
A vet told me that Ivermectin accumulates in the system and if you build up sufficient reserves of it, it is very toxic. The following recommendation is made a veterinarian: " The target dosage for mammals would be: 0.2 mg ivermectin /kg. I would be very wary of horse ivermectin, as the concentration is probably quite high. Best to treat once every 7 days over 3 weeks and then stop. The ivermectin has some residual effect, and then you'll avoid toxicity. If it recurs in a few weeks' time, start the once weekly regime for 3 weeks again. Guest guest
Thank you Sib. I wanted other people to consider the toxicity issues more carefully. Many people within many forums state that their is no or limited toxicity with the use of Ivermectin. What they seem to forget, is most of the information about toxicity on the web refers to the short term usuage. In most cases, one dose.Sib <sf@...> wrote: A vet told me that Ivermectin accumulates in the system and if you build up sufficient reserves of it, it is very toxic. Guest guest
Actually Ivermectin has been making a BIG difference. I barely have ANY bites. I have had two small ones but I'm pretty sure they died before they could finish. I mainly still feel them. I'm trying to work out a cleaning routine. I think it is going to be too expensive for me to change apartments so I'm going to line all of my floors that that plastic painting stuff and every fucking thing that can go in plastic. I'm packing up what I don't need but would like to see. I've been over at my boyfriend's place which probably isn't the best but I mentally I'm kind of worn out. I'm worried about him getting them but he swears he has had no problems. Once in a blue moon I will see a bite on him but it is only when we are really close together. I think my body some how influences it. I'm pretty sure they might be on him but they are not bothering him. Also, I " m going to try to clean my cube twice a week; a deep cleaning. I vacuum and then spray either epsom salt or this Kleen stuff I got. It is basically cheap enzyme cleaner. I'll tell you how it goes. I'm kind of just testing stuff out. I have had good luck with alcohol in my ears and eye brows. For my mouth I've been using mouth wash. I mainly have problems with my nose but don't want to put anything up there because it is such a sensitive area. Any suggestions? I really don't want to use any poisons. > > > > > > > > > > I wanted to thank everyone that provides > > comfort > > > > and advice to this > > > > > situation we are facing. Guest guest
ALso, how long is Ivermectin suppose to last? The doctor never told me. I think I'm going to need a second treatment. I took 9000 mg and I weight 115. That is a little low for my weight so I think it will last less. Going to go bath in that Kleen stuff in a bit. LET'S HOPE IT WORKS! > > > > > > > > > > I wanted to thank everyone that provides > > comfort > > > > and advice to this > > > > > situation we are facing. Guest guest
Ian please don't give up. Don't let these bugs win!!!! You are smarter and stronger and finding this site and these wonderful, knowledgeable, caring people is half the battle already. I would ask that you please stop using elimite. I used this quite a few times and i ended up buring my skin. I have been suffering for over two years and finding this site, I already feel like there is hope and things are taking a turn for the better. I have been using Rita's recipe for Chlorox in water and epsom salts and I can honestly say my environment is getting better. Keep working on yourself with the diet and lots of sunshine. Differnet things I've tried are when I feel itching and biting I wipe my skin immediately with wet ones that have benzalkonium chloride and sure enough at least one if not 20 come off skin onto the cloth. I use neem with tea tree oil and rub it in really well on affected areas. And I use paw paw if my skin feels crawly like it's alive and it calms down. I decided to keep using the windex in my car as I can't afford anything else. I lost my job in January due to downsizing so I've been able to spend more time and energy fighting this. I have gone back and read almost all the older postings and there are a lot of tips and suggestions there too. Keep the faith even though at times it seems impossible. Brighter days are just around the corner. Lou From: Ian <tenchantre@...>Subject: Ivermectinbird mites Date: Friday, July 11, 2008, 6:20 AM I know I have been warned about rushing into this, but after 3 monthsof itching and torment, my sanity is getting more and more unstable. I spend most of my day in tears. In another 3 months I could seemyself being homeless, and still infected. Everything I've read makesthis look like a textbook case of scabies (except the infestation ofthe face/sinuses) . It has driven me to days of tears and back intodrinking with no concern for a future. I have infected my parents andsister and her family and lost so, so much in such a short time. I'vedone 2 treatments of Elimite, both helped, but i got reinfectedsomehow each time. I thinking having had it for so long makes it allthe harder to get rid of. The tedium of constantly cleaning home andoffice is maddening but i am adapting. I can never tell if mycubicle at work is clean or not. No one else seems to be catching itand if I report it i get fired...as crazy as that one sounds.Bottom line: my doc will probably prescribe 2-3 more treatments ofElimite before telling me it's my imagination. I'm still fuckingCOVERED in bites. I see that magicpharma is closed right now. Whereelse can I get ahold of Ivermectin?many thanks and prayers to all sufferers,Ian
Guest guest
I gave up on trying to find the human pills, and so went with horse paste. http://www.jeffersequine.com/ssc/product.asp? Guest guest
Hi Ian, Before you try the ivermectin, there are a couple of natural products that will probably help you. A number of people on this site have used an herbal product called " paraclear " , and reported that it helped them alot. It looks like you buy it at: http://www.vitalityweb.com/nutrition/paracle.htm Also, several people mentioned Dr. from Healthwalk, and I see he sells a similar product called " Revoxil " (has anyone tried this?): http://www.healthwalk.com/?TabId=124 I also used a similar product called " Parasite Formula " from a local shop here on Maui, and you can also buy it on-line: http://www.mauiherbs.net/index.html I think they forgot to put the Parasite Formula on their website, but I'm pretty sure they still make it. If you contact them they can tell you. It's $20 per bottle, which lasts about 17 days. It cannot be taken long term because it contains chapparal which can cause liver damage. I took it last Winter and it helped a lot, especially with my energy level. These natural remedies can give you some immediate relief, which it sounds like you need. This is probably the worst time of year, with the heat. What part of the country are you in? I'm sorry about your other family members getting infested. If it just started recently for them, they might be able to get rid of the bugs with chemicals. I hope their skin isn't infested like ours. Guest guest
Until we know what effect this will have on the ecology and other animals ( as it was pointed out this will be toxic to Collies and related breeds (including the Sheltie, Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, English Shepherd, Bearded Collie, Silken Windhound, and others), I wouldnt recommend the global use of it- we cant even be sure if its doing what its supposed to be doing Ivermectin is similar to Avermectin an insecticide Ivermectin is used against worms and SOME mites and SOME lice it is a " dewormer " for heartworm and other similar parasites. resistance is being reported which will increase with indescriminate use I have the original study from the early 1990's ( as a grad student at Rutgers doing my PHD I was involved in similar studies on the campus with deer and as I was a Lymie I was futher interested) and they show a reduction of ticks by amount of 84-93% BUT that was when deer were in enclosures and controlled circumstances. and it was not total eradication. studies on wild deer and what it may do to other animals lving nearby arent as clearly successful. Sometimes by reducing the tick numbers the parasites inside ( lyme bart etc) become stronger and more virulent meaning more infective--so you may have a few less ticks but theyre more likely to cause disease... Sometimes?fear makes us ?jump on quick fixes without thinking through the consequences.. in an era that has us contaminating and poisoning ourselves with pesticides and PCBs and plastics etc--do we want to add yet another poison to the environment without first stopping and making sure it wont make things worse?? Id stick with the damminix ( used for decades)plus ?natural eradication--clean up brush--etc, and take precautions if there is a severe infestation call an experienced professional like an exterminator and choose the least risky, best effective methods around your property and buffer zone then maintain afterwards with less risky methods.
