Guest guest
I only use the pure herb Periwinkle and only use it in tincture form. I buy the cut and sifted and make my own tincture. I have used it for almost two years now. I haven't tried your synthetic form of periwinkle. So IF you are going to use it, follow their directions so you don't get into trouble. That is all I can say about it. jim. ### kendra <kendraz@...> wrote: greetings, i was receiving intuitive feeling that i should start vincamine, which i bought few months ago but left sitting. today i realized that one of the things it's supposed to help is tinnitus, which happens to be a symptom that i've had for years, but it's been getting much stronger recently and really bothering me. so, happy coincidence. i've re-read what buhner says in his book, but now i'm a bit perplexed. it seems that buhner only mentions in book vincamine, which is, as far as i can tell, a " natural constituent found in the leaves of Vinca minor (lesser periwinkle). Guest guest
Kendra, I don't know the answer to your question, but if you do start taking Vincamine, I'd be interested to know if it helps foggy brain. I think it was who had that result from it, also vision, if I remember correctly. I tried it, but I wasn't able to tolerate it, made me very nautious. But ' rec was so high, I keep thinking, I should try it again. ellen > > greetings, > i was receiving intuitive feeling that i should start vincamine, which i > bought few months ago but left sitting. today i realized that one of the > things it's supposed to help is tinnitus, which happens to be a symptom that > i've had for years, but it's been getting much stronger recently and really > bothering me. so, happy coincidence. > > i've re-read what buhner says in his book, but now i'm a bit perplexed. it > seems that buhner only mentions in book vincamine, which is, as far as i can > tell, a " natural constituent found in the leaves of Vinca minor (lesser > periwinkle). Guest guest
I have been taking Periwinkle tincture for about 22 months now. It is good for eye problems, dimentia, headaches, memory difficulties, etc.. However I like Devils Claw the best for my vision problems. When I stop taking Devil's Claw, I notice the biggest deterioration in my vision. Guest guest
I have ONLY used Periwinkle (vincamine) in tincture form right from the beginning, so didn't have to deal with any impure capsules. I am wondering WHAT SIZE capsules are used to only give you 20mg? I realize that Periwinkle is quite light, compared to most of the other herbs, but is a " 0 " size capsule equal to 20 mg, or a " 00 " size, or do you have to have a much smaller size capsule? Does anyone know IF Buhner has said anything about using tincture versus encapsulated powder? I imagine I could get Periwinkle in bulk powder form, though I haven't tried as yet. Thanks, Jim. ### kendra <kendraz@...> wrote: jim wrote: So IF you are going to use it, follow their directions so you don't get into trouble. well, this is part of what's confusing to me. the directions on my bottle of vinpocetine is for the SAME dose as what buhner recommends for the vicamine, 20mg 3xday. so IF the vinpocetine is truly a lot stronger, this does not make sense. then jo just wrote about taking only 5mg of vinpocetine (1/4 of my capsule) ... i'm starting with 1cap of 20mg per day. see how that goes. maybe go up to 2xday. think i'll send query to buhner too. i did not realize there was a difference between these before i bought. i was not able to find any of the vincamine without extra fillers, binders, rice, gluten, etc, that i need to avoid. i just looked again and can't even find a lower dose of the vinpocetine that is filler-free. still curious, kendra
