Guest guest
When I was told I had Lyme, I googled for the symptoms of Lyme and the co's. I saw that I matched the Lyme symptoms but not any of the co's. I tested for all the infections, and indeed, that's what came back - positive for Lyme, not for the rest. So that might be a first step to do - to see whether you think you match any of the symptoms listed for babesia, bartonella and ehrlichia. - Robin [ ] Re: Igenex Extended Coinfection Test When I got my pos Bb result from Igenex, it was suggested I follow up with the co-infection panel which was positive for Babesia. Bart didn't show but that means little since there are so many species and thus false negative results. You have to assume that if you have Borrelia, you likely have other bugs as well. Whether you want to pay for the additional test is your choice. Some would argue to save the money and treat the clinical symptoms. deb > > I just took the Igenex test that basically tests for lyme, not so much the coinfections. The big test is 690.00 dollars !!! I am just wondering if I really should invest in taking this to find out co-infections...i hear alot of people talking about specific bacteria and treating them. Any thoughts? >
Guest guest
That's 1 thing I like about our llmd she will test but she saved us $ by doing a strictly clinical dx of lyme and bart. She said she would run the test if we wanted but it wasn't needed. She also told us she would like Tim to have a CD57 done, but not to worry with it now because it would most likely be low. Wait till his symptoms improve then have 1 done and then again once he is improving even more.
