I agree, Japanese Knotweed. You can order it from 1st Chinese Herbs in bulk and

boil it to make a decoction. They are great on the phone: 888-842-2049--patient

and informative and used to dealing with folks with Lyme. I tried taking the

original formula tabs from Source Naturals (no longer available) and found them

expensive and very hard on my digestion. With the decoction you can start at a

mild strength (discuss with 1st Chinese) and increase as your tolerance

improves.

Good Luck

Kim

I would try Japanese Knotweed

doxcycline does. I have bad candida and can't tolerate abx that kill good

bacteria. I have browsed 's book briefly but just use the artemesia for

my chronic babesia. I wondered if there were one herb that would be good to

start with to see if I have a herx reaction or a symptom I am having of tight

achilles tendon will respond. Thanks Doug

Kl, I do use the supplement Resveratrol by Nature's Way. I take only one a day

mostly for budget reasons. Thanks Doug

Kim , I may try that, but wondered if I could just take a supplement( capsule)

instead. With all the stress in my life I'd prefer not having to " get things

together " . Doug

Anne, I will look into your candida sites. I already take more than half of your

suggestions. Did not know melatonin was important. What does the seaweed and

seegreens do? With gerd I can't do the garlic, for some reason cod liver gel

caps always seem to make my babesia worse or made me feel very nervous. I tried

butter and got teenage like acne the next day on my face and buytraid gave me

all kinds of bad side effects. You were just trying to help so I should not be

giving you all my arguments. I also take olive leaf extract daily and

L-glutamine. Thanks Doug

" for some reason cod liver gel caps always seem to make my babesia worse or made

me feel very nervous " This could be a herx reaction, so you might want to

consider taking a smaller amount and work up to a larger dose after some months.

Connie, I had been taking the gel caps for almost 4 years straight having heard

it was better for knee arthritis than fish oil. One eveing on taking it I

noticed the nervous reaction it gave me. Honestly I think the reaction was not

new but one I had normally just adjusted to. It did not feel good and I decided

to drop it. In the same fashion, I had taken pomegranite extract for 2 years and

just paid closer attention and noticed it made me bloated. I think that is

related to having candida for over a year. Doug

So, did someone say you should NOT take oregano oil and anything with

probiotics together as the oil kills the probiotics???

I thought oregano oil was for yeast/candida???

Doug, I am not an expert on lyme yet...but am working on it. I do, however

know a lot about candida issues. I recommend 2 sites:

healingnaturallybybee.com no cost free info! She is strict, so you have to

get with the program or she will let you know about it :) It works.

WE used the gapsdiet.com diet with our son and it has worked wonderfully.

He went from not being to digest his foods at all and being in the 20th

percentile to being quite healthy and in the 80th percentile.

To cure candida, you will have to be just as comitted as curing lyme.

Items I like (mostly from iherb):

oregano oil (now brand a good bargain, but will have to dilute to use)

renew life 50 billion probiotic

allicin garlic

cod liver oil - garden of life (I like the green pastures product but can no

longer afford it)

raw butter (from a local dairy)

nutiva coconut oil (iherb)

grassfed pastured only meats and eggs and fish (farmed fish not ok)

seaweed and seagreens

natural melatonin

BEst of luck, ANne
