Guest guest
Jaye, Firstly, trust yourself and people with experience in this " challenge " . At our best, we might look OK on the outside, but we all know there's a war going on in our insides. I do have PB8, but when I asked my " guy " , he gave me something better - when I get home, I will look up the name and send it to you. For detox (which seems to be vitally important to get the dead guys out) I use glutithione, milk thistle (OK, liver support), saunas, hottubs, massage, as much Vit C as you can handle, an anti-oxident with olive leaf and AFA - for a start. And don't worry about convincing anyone else. My son gives me a bit of grief over whether I acutually have anything or not (no testing). You need to take care of You, and You will do it the best! If someone doesn't believe you or support you, then you support you more!!! W _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Jaye Sent: Monday, August 10, 2009 7:37 AM Subject: [ ] Detox & probiotics Hi What probiotics would you take on the buhner protocol? The book says PB8 but I remember my last LLMD saying no to it when I was on a antibiotic regimine. She had me on theralac, boulardii and ultra flora plus. Would you recommend something different than what she prescribed or the PB8? Also, what recommendation for a daily detox. I've been using burbur and parsley. Would you suggest anything else? I appologize if I asked this before. I can't find my notes on what was suggested. I'm having a hard time explaining to my husband the need for the detox and probiotics. He keeps insisting they are only needed for antibiotics. Can anyone give me a simple explanation I can give him. My brain fog is really bad and I can't get across to him. I appreciate any help. Guest guest
Thank you for the info. I remember now us talking about the milk thistle. You list for detox is long. You do all of these? I look forward to knowing the probiotics name. It's not so much he's not supporting...that has been an issue at times...it's I can't explain it to him and would like a simple reply I can give him. My brain fog is at it's worse right now. Thanks again Jaye Sent from my iPhone. Read up a bit before you start, some people get herx reactions from it. > I'm having a hard time explaining to my husband the need for the detox and probiotics. I agree that probiotics shouldn't be necessary if you don't take antibiotics (or didn't take them recently). If you have severe gut problems you could try it if helps, but in that case changing your diet will probably have more benefit (more basic/raw foods, maybe try gluten-free etc. for some months). There are hundreds or even thousands of different types of bacteria in your gut; there is no way you can really influence that just by adding some probiotics (usually a very limited range of species). If the existing bacteria are not removed by antibiotics (even that only kills maybe 30% of the gut flora), fasting etc. the additional probiotics will not have much effect. Guest guest
Knotweed >>I agree that probiotics shouldn't be necessary if you don't take antibiotics (or didn't take them recently).<< I stand corrected. While I don't remember reading in the BP book an explanation of using probiotics Buhner does have it listed in the back of the book on page 212. My assumption was it is still needed on his protocol. I was tested positive for Candida a few months ago and been working on diet restriction since. I continued with the probiotics the doc prescribed and thought I needed to stay on them with the BP. Is there a way of knowing if I'm Candida free without blood work? I'm currently without a LLMD. Jaye

I don't think one can ever be fully Candida free. So I doubt the value of all theses tests. It's more a matter of getting it down to normal levels, having the right balance of gut flora. Using the right probiotics (containing another type of yeast) and diet (sugar-free, raw vegetables etc.) should help for this.
Guest guest
Jaye, Did you ever get the name of probiotics? I change brands every time I order on the advice of my " guy " . _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Jaye Sent: Monday, August 10, 2009 9:35 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Detox & probiotics Thank you for the info. Guest guest
, I thought I replied, not sure if email went through. I can recommend a GREAT probiotic my llmd suggests. It's by Ortho-Molecular. I have been on this for a year and a half. I take 1 a day & I am on IV & oral abx as well as taking a Buhner tea. http://tinyurl.com/orthobiotic This links to amazon. Best price I have ever found for 60. You don't need to refrigerate! Sonya > > Jaye, > > Firstly, trust yourself and people with experience in this " challenge " .
