Guest guest
i emptied out my 401k. You can legally withdraw retirement savings if your doctor will fill out forms saying you are permanently disabled. And i was " lucky " to get an inheritance. many people lose everything they have while they wait. ~dory
Guest guest
Another option is to learn to self treat yourself. My wife and numerous others have gotten their Chronic Lyme in remission without expensive medical bills! Her story and others are documented on my free lyme resource computer cd. See web page below. www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > Re: [ ] How do you survive until > disability is approved? > > i emptied out my 401k. Guest guest
I emptied out my 401K, as well. I was lucky enough to have a husband who found a job, but his contract ended on Friday and he hadn't prepared by lining up another one. So now we have no income. He might be eligible for unemployment, but I'm not because I haven't worked in the year-and-a-half period on which they base the unemployment rate. I'm going to find out today if they will continue my previous unemployment claim...the one I had before I went on state disability (which ended in March 2010). I have decided I can't afford to not work, so no matter what it takes, I will have to work and let go of the disability case. I have no idea if I would be able to do well at a regular job outside of my home! The government forces us into this predicament. My lawyer said it takes between two-and-a-half and three years to get SSDI! I can't wait that long. I wish you the best of luck and will also email you privately. So I went to social services and told them I am not able to work anymore because of medical problems and to ask what I qualify for while I wait out the time it takes to get disability. I was told there isn't anything except maybe food stamps. What does everyone else do to survive until disability is approved? >
