Guest guest
I just had my hubby in the ER yesterday. He had developed a rash around the picc line area, we think from the adhesive on the tagaderm clear bandage over the picc line, but then it spread on the whole arm and was swollen, so they were concerned about blood clots but the ultrasound was fine, so they gave us some cream to put on the rash, as it was very itchy and told us to keep taking 50 mg. benedryl and watch it til next week. They put marker around the rash and said, if it increases in size, to come in asap. I was wondering too, if it indeed was an allergic reaction or some type of herx??? Any ideas?? Guest guest
Could also be yeast. It loves to thrive in warm places. I dealt with yeast around my picc line as well. I found that hot baths helped my pain, but the heat made yeast grow.
