Could it be the cats claw and could this be a sign that I should not take it? I don't have anyone to ask about this right now. I am in between LLMD's and not sure what my new LLMD thinks about herbs yet. IMHO catsclaw is an unlikely cause for this. Some of the other herbs have properties similar to hormones, or they can disturb hormones (probably andrographis and knotweed, not sure though ... check out which of them Buhner warns not to use when you want to get pregnant). Keep in mind that this effect of the herbs could occur only after a longer time, e.g. after using them for a few months. > Also, I read last night you should not take Cats Claw if you have an autoimmune disorder. I would guess that the Hashimoto is a wrong diagnosis in your case, that it really is a Lyme sideeffect. Many Lyme patients have auto-immune like symptoms, but this doesn't mean that they are really auto-immune (although IDSA keeps talking about it, there is no credible scientific evidence for that theory). But just to be sure, try to keep an eye on symptoms of the 'Hashimoto' disorder.
