For Ellen re: Fatigue

Hi Ellen and thank for your response!

Yes, the kind of fatigue I have allows me to do 1 thing/day (on good

days). Right now, I really don't have the energy to type on the

keyboard, much less get up and go back to bed.

Yes, yes and yes, I have adrenal exhaustion. I had it years ago and was

greatly helped by Adrenal Cortex Extract (IV). Between that, changing

my diet (nothing with sugar or even sweet fruit, no refined grains,

etc.) and having 2 children, my endocrine system slowly came back.

In the 70' and 80's I started running (jogging), which strengthened my

cardiovascular system, I became even better.

Then there was a bad batch from 1986-1997 when I had do do real estate.

In '97 we got our own office (just my husband, the broker, and me), and

all I had to do was the marketing, office work and the books.

But in 1998 I found a dog tick on my abdomen, and then a perfect large,

deep scarlet bull's eye rash. When I first found that tick, I went to

the doctor immediately, and he called my insurance company (big

mistake). They said I could not be treated unless I tested positive for

the and then the Western Blot (5 bands). I went in 6 weeks in a

row for , but they were all negative (no surprise).

About 6 weeks later I had a bout of the " flu " (and so did my husband who

had presumably not been bitten [interesting?]). So I went on a health

kick, first walking, then jogging, and I went to the Y and did all the

machines. Everything was fine, except I always had a strange buzzing in

my right ear.

The summer of 2000 I went to the beach with a friend and her children

for a few days, and was bitten by a nasty horsefly. It really hurt.

Over the next 2 weeks I just kept getting sicker and sicker, so I went

to the Doctor. This of course was later, and he gave me a Western Blot

test (he just said " Labs, so I didn't think " Lyme " ).

About 2 days later they called and said that I was highly positive for

Borrelia, and to come right in for abx, which I did. He put me on abx

(Levaquin, I think). When they didn't work, he rotated them. Finally I

went in in 1.01 and told him I was getting progressively worse, so he

sent me to New Jersey, where I repeatedly tested positive pcr, and all

together I had 3 years of IV abx (Doxy and Zith); the only time I was

slightly better was after the 1st IV.

Then I spent 3 years in bed in delirium; I didn't know who or where I

was. When I slowly became a little better. I began going to our local

information group (support group), and was referred to a specialist in

New Jersey, where I still go. He has me on Tindamax, among other

things.

So there is the story of my Lyme.

Yes, I know I have adrenal fatigue, but it is much worse than that. My

entire Pituitary/Hypothalamus/Adrenal Cortex axis is depressed and I

will not get better until this is straightened out.

Thanks for the supplement suggestions. You are right on. I take 400 mg

of Coq10 a day (I know that sounds like a lot, but there is a great

difference in potency among brands and it takes that much to stop my

arrhythmia. I also take lots (at least 2 pills 3/day minimum) of

Eleuthero aka Siberian Ginseng (along with Holy Basil - gifts from God).

Thanks if you have managed to stay with me. I'm now on Buhner's

protocol, and so is my husband, who by this time is very sick, but still

has to work because I can't. He has Bartonella, it is very serious, and

he will not take abx, but he will take Buhner's protocol. I still have

to get the red root.

If you have any additional suggestions, no matter how trivial they

sound, please send them over and I will take them.

Thank you very much for your posts, Dear Ellen, I actually have met some

wonderful and worthy people along the way (if you see this, Bless You,

Janet!).

All Best Wishes,

[ ] Re: Fatigue

Dear ,

I'm sorry you're feeling that way.

I know exactly what you mean. When I first had Lyme, I had to husband

my energy. So if I was able to prepare breakfast, that might be it for

the day.

Then as I improved, I fixed breakfast AND washed the dishes.

(Boy I remember - that was a big step!)

Don't know if you saw my post- I found CoQ-10 made a big difference

for my Lyme-fatigue.

Is there any possibility that you have adrenal exhaustion which is

what I have now?

Abx can cause it. If you think you do, I could post the diet and

supplements which have worked for me.

I am already feeling better than before, altho not yet 100 percent.

People have also found, and Buhner recommends, Siberian ginseng, which

I have not tried, altho I find any ginseng to be good for energy.

ellen

Dear ,

What an awful time you've had!

I do hope you and your husband obtain relief thru Buhner's protocol.

If I do have any tips I will pass them on. But the best advice I could

give anyone is to give the protocol a chance.

Wonder, since you mention NJ, do you live in NJ?

I used to attend a support group in NJ. If you want to e-mail me

off-line, to tell me, I thought it might be the same one, altho I

guess there are many.

Mine is not active right now.

Hang in there.

We're pulling for you both.

best,

ellen
