Guest guest
I'm having these symptoms and I'm too mentally lethargic to do any research, but from my memory of what people on here have said, and my own intuition I think this is liver. Would like any opinions or experience: Great fatigue- of course this could be Lyme back. I had to stop taking co-Q-10 cuz out of work, but I should probably start that again, that helped me a lot with fatigue. Sometimes I shake from tiredness and feel like I can't move. This has not been the case with me. 2nd- the mental fatigue is even worse. I didnt have this very much when I was Lyme symptomatic - nothing like now. The thought of preparing to tutor seems overwhelming, even tho it's something I've done for 15 years. Eating dressing all these seem totally overwhelming onerous tasks to do. I sleep thru the night, but I when I wake up I feel more tired than when I went to bed, and I have the impression of having bad dreams. most noticable - i used to have hypoglycemia, I brought it under control, when I had Lyme, it became very apparent, then for a long time it hasn't bothered me. Now, I have this deep hunger all the time, and weakness. I'm eating a lot more than I usually do. Why I think Liver - as I posted earlier, I overdid the eggnog a few weeks ago. Immediately afterward I did not feel sick which I expected I would. As time went on , I started having these symptoms, and it scares me, cuz I think I read somewhere, that not having immediate symptoms, but having symptoms later indicates some liver problem. Not sure if I'm making this up. Anyway, I bought some milk thistle and started that and today I'm going to get some dandeline greens and other green vegetables. I'm cutting down on coffee which coffee does make me feels awful, but there is no way I'm able to eliminate it. Also I'm very very thirsty, more so than usual. Does this ring bells with anyone? As far as symptoms and your experience? Anything you can think of besides the thistle and dandelion? thanks so much, ellen
Guest guest
Ellen, now you sound like a lyme sufferer! Sorry to hear that... A year ago or so, your symptoms were too weak and I didn't 'relate'. Now you sound like me, few months ago/ years ago. It could be your gall bladder, like most lyme sufferers... My main problems with oily food were due to gall bladder, many lyme sufferers lose it while on treatment (antibiotics mostly). It's the gall bladder that 'digests' the oil in the food (making it small, like soap). Total avoidance of 'bad' oils was necessary while I got into 'treatment' (I started with lemon + flaxseed oil + fresh beetroot in pieces). This was wonderful. I have the recipy sometime, but it's basically a beetroot cut in tiny pieces, one or two lemons (juice) in it, plus 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil (if my memory is good). Then eating about a coffeespoon of this 'salad' every hour or every two hours in the first day, then in the second day, you eat a bit less frequently. You continue for a few days until the problem is cleared. This makes the bile move. Of course, it could be liver too. Or even pancreas. Dandelion can be useful, but milk thistle is the herb that works for most. Dandelion didn't test for longer in my case, but I used it in emergency in tea form. Your fatigue sounds also like lyme fatigue, who knows from what: infection is high, excess of die off toxins, excess of by products from critters (toxic too), hormonal problems (thyroid can cause extreme fatigue and is very common to get in trouble for lyme sufferers), dysautonomia, digestive problems, lack of vitamin D, lack of magnesium, lack of trace minerals, lack of enzymes ... Because of this maze, that's why I tried energetic tests. There are too many variables to treat, and without these tests, I wouldn't ever know what to do first, except for the 'trial/ error' long process... Try treating your liver, but if yoru condition doesn't improve, you have to continue looking for answers. I know what is it to have this extreme fatigue that made me unable to count the change of money, to be unable to cook a single dish, dress up, stand up etc. Driving was one of the most difficult things (and dangerous) to do in that condition. I do hope you improve, this is no life. Hunger can mean that your body is full of toxins and it's asking for either minerals or oily food (my case). I craved for oily food when I was toxic. It seems some oils help us detoxify. Every time I ate oily ('good' oils, though), I felt relief, it seems oils are protective to the nervous system (as our brain is made of oily matter!). Another time, I was in fact craving minerals. I would avoid coffee at any means, as well as alcohol. I'm a fan of black tea, and despite the fact that I read once it does bad to the liver, I consume a lot of it for decades (about 3 decades!!) and never got any problem from it. I feel a bit 'poisoned' with coffee, with or without sugar, light or strong. During the whole of my lyme story, I consumed black tea (good quality), from the most bitter you can find (many of them, I import from the UK) and mild ones, and I find that milder ones never made any negative effect on me. Good luck for you, girl. I hope you'll feel better soon. Guest guest
-Thanks Selma, I'm on my way to the health food store, so I'll get the fixings for that salad you describe. Thanks for understanding. One feels if one says 'I'm so tired I can't figure out how to get dressed', the listener will think you are exaggerating. By your response I feel validated. I'll let you know my progress if any. regards, ellen > > > > I'm having these symptoms and I'm too mentally lethargic to do any > > research, but from my memory of what people on here have said, and > my > > own intuition I think this is liver. > > Would like any opinions or experience: > > Great fatigue- of course this could be Lyme back. Guest guest
Ellen: Have you tried Huperzine-A? I just started it, so can't really report on it yet. But Buhner recommends it, so I am hoping it will help. I have also just started Potassium supplement, and also Zinc. All of these should help any of my symptoms along with all the rest of the herbs I still take. Yes, you MUST at least CUT DOWN on coffee. I limit myself to ONE cup a day of DECAF. That is it.certainly is no good for you. I find coffee makes me thirsty after I drink it, and of course it is a diuretic. sp?. My vision and brain fog are quite good again, so maybe the Huperzine-A is already starting to work. WHY is there NO WAY you can eliminate ALL coffee? I quit it altogether back in the 70's after I quit smoking. Do you feel you are so addicted to it that you can't quit or what? Take care of yourself, Jim. ### .. rasheedaas <rasheedaas@...> wrote: I'm having these symptoms and I'm too mentally lethargic to do any research, but from my memory of what people on here have said, and my own intuition I think this is liver. Guest guest
Ellen, I have the chronic fatigue, chronic thirst, mental fog etc. I never thought of it being related to the liver, I do feel toxic though, it feels like my body is trying to flush itself out. Not sure about the liver thing, did not have it tested, I do get kidney pain though. Who knows, I think Lyme likes to mess with all our organs. Dagmar **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi Jim, How ya doing? Haven't 'talked' to you in a while. I'm not familiar with Huperzine-A. I'll look it up, but if it is a supplement which it sounds like it is, rather than an herb, I can't afford it. so far I've been taking thistle, and the detox tea, and changed my diet drastically. I started to feel better immediately. Today I did a couple of errands this morning, and then had to rest the rest of the day, but I felt better this morning than I have in a while. so I feel like whatever I'm doing is working. As to the coffee yes I am addicted. I have cut down to 1/2 cup. I crave it all day but so far have not given in. Good for you that you eliminated this. I have learned from this recent illness, that when I am ill-nourished I crave coffee, alcohol and sweets. I guess that may not be news to most, but I am experiencing the truth of that. So it will be good if I can continue keeping good food around, such as brown rice, and vegies, already prepared, and just heat them up when I have a craving. At the moment am feeling very satisfied after my dinner of: beets, brown rice, adzuki beans, dandelions sauteed with garlic, and 1/2 sweet potato. Guest guest
Doing okay, except for the chest pains I have been having for about 6 weeks. Went for heart testing on Wednesday and waiting for results from that. Huperzine-A IS an herb. But it is extracted from the whole herb huperzia serratum. you can use the whole herb in tincture or capsules or tea, but Buhner says he hasn't seen the whole herb used for memory disorders. But might be worth a try. I got the tablets from Vitacost. 120 tablets for $10.18. I take two tablets a day. I can't afford it either, should be paying house payments, but need to get better too. You can read all about the Huperzine-A on pages 162-164 of the Healing Lyme book. Take care, Jim. ### rasheedaas <rasheedaas@...> wrote: Hi Jim, How ya doing? Haven't 'talked' to you in a while. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, I'm new to this group but have had liver issues for the past year or so. Your symptoms actually dont sound like liver stuff to me at all...i would much sooner guess its a significant candida flare. You said some of the symptoms came around after you did egg nog...did you change you diet in other ways over the holidays. Faituge like that, plus extreme hunger again points me to candida. I have hypoglycemia too that developed through have lyme and its always so much worse when the candida is way overboard. Another idea would be parasites...ive had alot of parasites that went hand in hand with the lyme. They made me extremmmmmly hungry and exhausted beyond belief. So those are my guesses. Guest guest
Hi Beth, Thanks for your ideas. I can say now I'm sure it was adrenals cuz my adrenal-boost diet worked great! and I am back to my normal energy level. altho I'm hungrier than usual. Cuz usually I don't have much of an appetite. Re parasite - I'll have to read up on that - I remember reading that parasites are pretty common. I've had hypoglycemia for many years, and it was amazing how much worse it got with the Lyme. Nowadays, as long as I don't go too long without eating, and as long as I stay aware about diet, I'm ok with that. regards, ellen > > Hi Ellen, > I'm new to this group but have had liver issues for the past year or > so.
