Guest guest
I've had the long term neck/shoulder issues, too. Muscles are tender & sore as if the weight of holding my head up is too much. This alone is surprisingly disabling. Any time I've taken antibiotics I get relief, but it doesn't last. Generally when I've been able to increase exercise intensity, getting more oxygen, it seems, this improves somewhat. I also try to be aware of posture as a factor, but this seems to be more a consequence of muscle pain & weakness. This is a something I've fought against nearly 20 years. I'm certain infection is involved, but no so certain it's from Lyme's, which I just got last year. There seems to be chronic various streps, citrobacters, and viral issues involved. I've had very serious heavy metal issues, had amalgams removed, and have been chelating & detoxing, with many, many other symptoms relieved or lessening, since '03. Infectious and hormonal issues continue to linger, so the muscle pain - infection link is quite obvious. I've only used stephania in an anti-inflammatory blend. I find it so constipating that i consider it counterproductive. Jap knotweed counteracts that, but my gut gets pretty convulsive on more than 3-4 tablets a day. I'm still trying to get to an effective balance of herbs, since with lower doses I was back on antibiotics in two months. Again, one month after that multiple areas were infected (ears, eyes, bladder). Cipro is what I've noted in the past to help with other infections and muscles, and things like uvi ursi help. I really didn't need Lyme's! I experience that muscle pain differently...more like period cramping during active, early illness, as well as feeling like I've lifted weights for two hours after five minutes of lifting a few books. It's return of that type of exhaustion I associate with lyme's recurring. > > Hi,I'm new here. I'm seeing a traditional LLMD and have been on abx for awhile (oral and IV). I've had lyme at least 25 years and probably passed it on to my son who is doing well now post treatment. My local doc, who has learned about Lyme has just added stephania to my protocol for neuro problems (eye pain from 5th nerve and headaches). Now my neck is stiff which has been a serious problem in the past, but lately has been better. Anyone get a stiff neck from herxing when they started stephania? I get so tired of adding something new that is supposed to help, but then the herxing always makes everything worse before it gets better!! (If it gets better.....) Both my LLMD and my local doc have recommended japanese Knotweed so I make my own tablets combining the two. Thanks for any experience with stephania. I've been on the knotweed for about 6 months so I don't think that is the problem and I finished IV in Nov. and it did not give me this stiff neck. Neck started getting stiff at night 10 years ago and was stiff and sore for a solid 9 months when I started antibiotics, but it has been better in the last year. God bless you all! >
