If making capsules won't work for you, you can also take the herbs loose As

powders & just add up to 1 tsp (= to 4 capsules) of each herb in applesauce

Wishing you Light & Love & Ease of well being

knowing me, but it's good to know about that option.

Buehner's protocol. Because of my low income, she said it would be ok to use

bulk herbs. I notice in the book I have by Buehner, I don't see anything but

capsules talked about, which are very expensive. How do I know if I'm taking the

right amount of bulk herbs?

Here is the link to Buhner's response re: one person's Protocol for

decoctions:

Sorry if you have to cut and paste this. Hope it helps.

Well- You can ask your LLMD about what Buhner approves in this comment.

Herbs are not allopathic medicine, so one really should go upon ones

reactions.

If you are feeling well on the higher doses (BTW tnx for giving the amounts-

v. helpful) then go w/that.

There is a sort of discussion among herbalists about " standardization "

meaning making herbs conform more along the allopathic lines in order to

" measure " the ingredients so as to prescribe in exact amounts.

B. is against this. I am not on line with it either, feeling that the point

of using whole plants is that each individual is complex and different - and

that our organism can pick and chose what to take from the plants if we just

use the whole herb.

Anyhow, the goal is to get better - so do what works for you and HEAL! Good

luck, epiphany ps - as to the cooking times, I'd be wary. There is a point

at which essential oils and vital components can evaporate. Check in with

Buhner on this.

Personally I never boil my herbs - only slowly simmer and this timing is

dependent on the nature of the substance - bark, hard dry root, fresh herb

etc.

The general rule is to avoid extreme temperatures.
