actually, I get the impression he chose knotweed first of all because of its

strongly invasive properties. This is hardly mentioned in the Healing Lyme book,

but discussed in other Buhner books like 'The Lost Language of Plants'. For

fighting a highly invasive pest like ticks/borrelia, you use a highly invasive

plant that occurs in the same spot. This is not modern science at all, but a

common approach in herbalism (or medicine from pre-scientific societies).

Knotweed seems to be the perfect choice to fight tick infections and surprise,

surprise - it really has the chemistry to back up this choice :)
