Guest guest
National Heart Awareness Month: The Heart Chakra February is National Heart Awareness Month and throughout the month I will be posting tips for using crystals for heart health. The Heart Chakra Energy Energy medicine is based on the belief that the human body is composed of energy fields. When the energy is properly distributed and circulating freely, the body is healthy. Imbalances or abnormal amounts of energy are believed to indicate an excess or deficiency. When the energy of our Heart center or Heart Chakra is in balance, we are compassionate, loving, empathetic, altruistic, peaceful, in balance and truly have love for ourselves. When the heart is out of balance in excess conditions, we tend to express issues of co- dependency, poor boundaries with often demanding, clinging, jealous and overly sacrificing tendencies. When the heart is out of balance in deficient conditions, we tend to become anti-social, withdrawn, critical, judgmental, intolerant of ourselves and others, lonely, isolated and depressed. The word "Chakra" is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body. Each of these centers correlates to major nerve ganglia branching forth from the spinal column. In addition, the Chakras also correlate to levels of consciousness, archetypal elements, developmental stages of life, colors, sounds, body functions, and much much more. Dis-eases tend to point to the region of the body that is governed by that Chakra. This allows us to see where the energy is "stagnant". This energy is connected with our physical body through seven centers. These centers represent our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. When these centers are healthy and in balance, then we are the equivalent. Below is a brief description of each chakra. This 4th Chakra is associates with the element air, our social identity, oriented to self-acceptance. This chakra is the middle chakra in a system of seven. It is related to love and is the integrator of opposites in the psyche: mind and body, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity. A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, have a deep sense of peace and centeredness. The color for this chakra is green or pink. This chakra deals with physical healing, balance, harmony, compassion and love. The heart chakra is located near the heart. This energy center is most important in all facets of love, when it is balanced, you trust in others, take risks, love and feel loved. Physically, it governs the thymus gland, heart, blood, circulatory system and the immune and endocrine systems. To help activate this chakra, eat lots of green vegetables, surround yourself in nature, especially trees and plants. The symbol of this chakra is the Crescent.
