So a capsule filling machine can't pack as much as you can manually? I was

thinking of getting one.

And hand filling a packed 00 caps. may hold up to 1000mg?

I also use 00 pils, and they hold 0.9-1.0 gram of knotweed powder. That is

almost double of what you assume. I 'scoop' several times with the capsules to

get more powder inside, compared to using a simple capsule filling machine (that

wouldhave 0.5-0.6 gram in a 00 pill).

I found the filling machine I have (one of the popular, cheap models) useless.

When you try to 'pack' the powder in the capsule it blows out most of it,

especially with andrographis powder. I probably saves on time for larger numbers

of capsules, but efficiency is low.

yes, for knotweed and catsclaw I'm always at 900-1000 mg (filling weight,

excluding the capsules). From what I remember, stephania was like 800 mg and

andrographis around 600 mg.

keep in mind that there are other factors that vary, e.g. the grinding of the

powder influences packing, and the content of the herbs will vary depending on

origin, harvest time etc. Some variation is a given and not a problem IMHO, but

I try to keep things a bit under control.

Thanks for the weights, Knotweed, I don't have a scale that can weight that

small amount.

I guess I will stick to hand filling the capsules.
