Guest guest
I did not bother to read entire articles and so do not vouch for whether it proves or disproves resistance...unless it was clear in abstract--then I commented.my only goal is to point those interested to the available info out there on this topic. 1.International Journal of Food Microbiology   Volume 50, Issues 1-2, 15 September 1999, Pages 1-17    " Preservative agents in foods Mode of action and microbial resistance mechanisms "   by S.Brul and P. Coote 2.Anti-Acne Effects of Oriental Herb Extracts: A Novel Screening Method to Select Anti-Acne Agents C. Nam, S. Kim, Y. Sim, I. Chang Skin Pharmacology and Applied Skin Physiology 2003;16:84-90 THIS one showed a " negligible level of resistance to herbal glycyrrhiza " but apparently there WAS some measurable resistance mechanism provoked 3. " Herbs and Drug Resistance: Part 2—Clinical Implications of Research on Microbial Resistance to Antibiotics "  Kathy Abascal, Yarnell. Alternative & Complementary Therapies. 2002, 8(5): 284-290 Authors state " too early to announce that herbs solve problems of bacterial antibiotic resistance " (primary author is an herbalist herself-Kathy Abascal, BS, JD, Herbalist,) 4. Journal of Nutrition. 2001;131:1106S-1108S.)    Protection against Helicobacter pylori and Other Bacterial Infections by Garlic1 Gowsala P. Sivam this article categorically states: 'complete lack of resistance has been observed repeatedly' 5.Phytochemistry Volume 66, Issue 15, August 2005, Pages 1804-1811   Multidrug resistance reversal agent from Jatropha elliptica   Béatrice Marqueza, Luc Neuville, et al THIS one shows an herb that can REVERSE the mechanisms causing resistance in STAPH!!! ( the very same strains causing MRSA and NorA types) Ill leave those interested to delve further again , we all have to have open minds on both sides!!! (forgive the unorthodox citation format, couldnt get my pc to cooperate to italicize or underline as usually expected, after I copy/pasted directly from articles) Finette ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.
