Guest guest
Hi, Did you have the bite site checked by a professional to be sure there is nothing left behind? Oozing and itching can be either an allergic reaction to the bite or the bugs doing something under your skin. My bite sites would stay swollen and infected like a bug bite for month. The only thing that seems to help is neosporin or natural herb lomatium applied to the site. If it does not stop ouzing soon I would definitely have it checked. As for the fluid it is probably a sign of inflamation, like white blood cells. Dagmar **************Vote for your city's best dining and nightlife. City's Best 2008. Guest guest
>>>Sal, was it a sort of allergy? Alcohol is a total 'no' at home. Studies show some infants die after contact with alcohol used in hospitals. Specially if it's allergy, it will irritate the skin. Astragalus is a good idea, I suppose. Kids usually like its taste. I would put some garlic (cut in pieces and rub on the wound) and see how the wound reacts. Garlic kills lots of things. My naturopath recommended to do that 2 times a day. But if it's pure allergy, I don't know. I usually rub arnica homeopathic gel on allergic reactions, and that calms things down. Another thing that could help to rub on is bee venon homeopathic or ointment, but the child can't be allergic to bee stings. I would also get my hands on some homeopathics like Ledum 200C and Hypericum 200C and give a few globulis in alternate days. And add borrelia nosodes, lower potency, about 30C or so and give on the third day after bite. that's what I would do... Just based on own experience. Selma>> We did see two docs… (long story) and both said allergic reaction and wound is cleaning itself out. Less oozing today… so I think that is healing up now. Thank you for the alcohol info… did not know! I have not used homeopathics, although I am now thinking of ordering. Where do you all recommend ordering the homeopathics? She takes a freezed dried garlic pill a day… didn't think to crush a clove and use on a sore… thanks again! I sent the tick to IGeneX to be tested and have her on 750 mg astragalus working up to 1000mg a day. I am considering adding eleuthero, andrographis, and cat's claw. But, on samento, she had sores break out on her back a month or so ago and I stopped it and then had her tested for lyme. Tests came back positive IgG and IgM on some lyme specific bands… and I am pretty sure this is old infection (no tick bites this year). The answer is probably First Chinese.. . but going to ask anyway.:-) Where do you get the astragalus that tastes good? I could only find a tablet form. >>Did you have the bite site checked by a professional to be sure there is nothing left behind? Dagmar>>> I finally put the Neosporin on and maybe it did help….. docs both lyme literate said this can happen with any kind of bug bite… so…. It seemed like it could be a healthy response to me, but was not sure. >>I¹ve been told by many that the application of Echinacea (tincture form) is very good at drawing out the bacteria from the bite.Jayson>> Thanks, Jayson… where do you find the Echinacea… is that any brand and or a children's formula. New to herbs, and finally taking the dive… Sal
Guest guest
That would be I had her tested before (few weeks) this tick bite and she was already postive on lyme specific bands although no tick bites this year, and many last year and previous years... so assuming old infection. > > > >>>Sal, was it a sort of allergy? > > Alcohol is a total 'no' at home.
