Thanks for this link.

Is Stephan's update printed out somewhere?

Also re this statement by Stephan:

" I have come to feel that knotweed followed by cat's claw are the two best

primary herbs followed by eleuthero followed by andrographis then stephania. "

I'm surprised - it seems that he is rec. eleuthero as part of the primary

anti-Lyme protocol, and as I recall from the initial protocol, eleuthereo was

only recommended for symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog.

What is anyone's take on this?

thanks,

ellen

Hi,

I posted a couple weeks ago about having high liver enzymes. My doctor is

having me stop andrographis and retest in a couple of weeks. My side pain has

gone down since (or this may be due to red root which I started last week), but

some of the lyme symptoms are returning since stopping the andro such as foot

pain and jello-leg feeling (or this may be regularly scheduled flare-up).

Anyway, I was wondering about anything good that might substitute for the

andrographis or will the knotweed I am taking already suffice (also taking

smilax, cats claw, sometimes stephania),

Thanks!

I think Buhner has updated the protocol and eliminated andrographis as part of

the core protocol. I can't remember where I read it, but it was a direct quote.

that's distressing to hear-- because --from My experience-- everytime I allow my

self to run out of andrographis-- (ie. quit taking it)-- my symptoms flare up.

So I get myself back on it.  Why has he eliminated it from the protocol-- and

can you show me a link or somthing that makes reference to that fact?

If it's working for you then you should continue. The info is from Planet

Thrive where Buhner answers questions about his protocol. Here's his response

to a question about andrographis: (2009) " I think andrographis is fine if you

can tolerate it. Over time I have come to feel that knotweed followed by cat's

claw are the two best primary herbs followed by eleuthero followed by

andrographis then stephania. If you tolerate it (That is, no allergic reaction)

there is no reason not to be on the herb long term. . . . Yes, andrographis

helps break the encysted forms. "
