Guest guest
We are often persuading ourselves that life will be better once we have been married, after having birthed a child, then another one. Later we feel frustrated because our children are not yet old enough and we think that it will be better when they are grown up. Then we are frustrated because they are teenagers and that it is a difficult period for us to live. We are then convinced that we will be much happier when they have bypassed this period. We rationalize that our life will be fulfilled when things are better for our spouse. When we possess a better car or a larger house, when we can go on holidays, when we are retired. The truth is that there is not any time better than now to be happy . If not now, when? Your life will always be full of challenges to be reached and of projects to be achieved. Anyway, it is better to admit it and to decide to be happy. For a long time I thought that my life was about to begin at last, the true life, but there always had been an obstacle on the path, something to be resolved first, an unachieved theme, a moment to spend, a bill to be paid, then life was supposed to begin. Until I realized that those impediments were my life indeed. It has helped me to understand that there is no path that leads to happiness, but that happiness is the path itself and that it is lived daily. Therefore, amass each moment that you live as if they were treasures to share with those that you love and remember that time never waits. Stop waiting to end school, to get an increase of your salary, to shed 10 pounds, to marry, to have children, that your children leave the house or simply Friday night, Sunday morning, Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter or to die to be happy. Happiness is a trajectory not a destination. Happiness belongs to the now, not to the future. Happiness is within you now and not in front of you tomorrow or even later. Hence just work as if you did not need the money. Love as if no one had ever made you suffer and dance as if no one was watching you.
