Guest guest
Dear friends, I am asking anyone out there who can also help me with this,My son suffers practically the same thing as Jackie and my heart goes out to her and her fiance. It is so difficult to face the oncoming surgery and not knowing what the future lies. my question is this, does anyone know the medical name for the condition that causes the body to not react correctly to cold and heat. My son is continually suffering not only from his spinal injury but cold sweats his skin feels damp and cold yet he feels sunburned on his skin. I have searched the web and cannot find the name of this. I am trying to explain it to his physician who doesnt seem to have a clue. My thought is could it be peripheral nerve damage??Any thoughts as to how to treat it. tylenol does not help as it is not a fever. My best regards to you Jackie as I want you to know you are not alone in this.sincerely, suzanne >From: " Jackie " <bluesparkling_angel@...> >Reply-spinaldisorderssupport >spinaldisorderssupport >Subject: I've just joined >Date: Sun, 15 Sep 2002 06:53:47 -0000 > >I hope this is the right place to be asking questions. Guest guest
> does anyone know the medical name for the condition that causes the body to not react correctly to cold and heat. < There is a section of the brain that is our own internal thermostat. Have you had that checked? That is why older people are always cold... even in the summer. That section of the brain starts to quit working. ****************** Vicki Harkness ******************
Guest guest
Jackie: While I'm not sure I can give you any great advice, I could not help but respond to your emotional email. My knowledge is limited to degenerative disc disease (I have a shattered disc at L4/L5 and am, hopefully going to have artificial disc surgery beginning next year). Thankfully, there are so many wonderful people that are part of this community I'm sure you'll get responses from those who are better qualified to share their expertise and guide you. They have brought me not only great information but also great solice, and I'm sure will do the same for you. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and that you touched my heart. My prayers and best wishes are with you and your fiance. I hope everything goes well. Robin
Guest guest
, The request was sent far and wide. Please let us know how things go and if your friend come to a place where she would need a spiritual counselor, please let her know we have many here that would be honor to assist her and her loved ones. I send you much love and gratitude for allowing us to be part of this energy circle. Namaste, Liane
