Guest guest
In diabetics Ketones excreated in the urine can be asign of elevated blood sugars. However if you are following a low carb diet, ketones in the urine are indicative that your body is burning its own fat for fuel. Unless there are indications of kidney disease, it is really nothing to worry about--- staying well-hydrated should take care of it. Also, be aware that the " high " cholesterol numbers are usually indicative of *nothing*, considering how the researchers skewed the data in order to continue receiving research money. Guest guest
>yes, totally agree that it is overblown and marketing BS. Cholesterol is NOT important, the real issue is LDL/HDL etc. which is mostly fixed genetically. You can try to influence this all the way you want, but the body will try to push the balance back to where it thinks it belongs. Trust your body, and not the Pharma or Food mob.. My LD (low density=bad) numbers started to rise and the ratio to HD (good) was not optimal. I started taking fish oil caps. and fresh ground flax seeds daily. And the LD went down and the HD went up. Vegetarians can just use fresh ground flax seed daily (also red rice yeast) to improve their ratios. Statins have serious side-effects . I personally would never take them. My cholesterol imbalances began soon after hypothyroidism was diagnosed (later found to be caused by Lyme)
