Hi Jayson:

You have a lot of questions all right. IF you go through the archives here,

you will get more in depth answers I believe.

However I will attempt to answer some here now as I have been on Buhner's

Protocols for about two and a half years now. I too was hoping for a quick

cure, but that didn't happen as I found out. Like you I took some antibiotics

in the beginning but I had a relapse. Only I didn't go at it right away after

starting to get the relapse, as my duck said I was cured after the 24 days of

Cipro and he had cured himself twice after getting Lyme with abx.

But, I got worse and worse till I couldn't hardly stand it anymore and had to

do something about it. It is a long story I have gone into many times here and

on LymeNet so won't bother again.

But I joined LymeNet and saw the adv for Buhners book there on Amazon.com and

ordered it. I went on Buhner's protocol on November 25, 2005. I had little

money and no insurance so it was difficult, but I sold and old car and bought

many bottles of the herbs in hopes the 60 days at max would get me better.

Well, it did get me better, however when I tried to quit I relapsed almost

immediately. So kept the maximum protocol I took for over 5 months. Then very

gradually cut back. I have been on maintenance ever since. I get some

symptoms occasionally, but do pretty well.

Because I absolutely could not afford to keep buying the readymade herbs in

capsules and tinctures no matter how cheap I could find them, I started

encapsulating my own. I save about 75 to 80% over the readymades that way. It

is the only way I can afford it. I have found that WonderLabs has the best

prices on the empty capsules and The Capsule Machines. (I have four of them).

And I buy ALL of my bulk herbs from 1st Chinese Herbs because of Quality, Price

and nice people to work with. Call at the 800 number you can get through

Googling them.

I do not believe Buhner's core protocol is enough. You have to add his other

herbs in according to what your symptoms are.

I am a strong believer you must also use Red Root tincture, Sarsaparilla, and

Milk Thistle every day too. I would not want to be without them in this

journey. IF you are taking any abx with the herbs, they are even more

important.

I also find it a must for me to take Devil's Claw. Nettle and Stephania Root

also are important to me.

Hope this helps you get going. DO NOT WAIT. Get on something right away.

Jim.

Hi all. I am a new subscriber. I have been reading through Buhner¹s

book

and am full of questions. I am hoping this is a place I can have some of

them answered.

Background: My symptoms are not long standing 2-3 months, but they have been

coming on fast and hard. I first contracted what I¹m fairly certain is Lyme

disease in June of 07. The blood test came back negative but I elected for

antibiotics anyway. I was dead tired and having had it before, I didn¹t

want to go through it again. First time was treated with homeopathy

successfully, but only mildly resurfaced once or twice a year prior. The

antibiotics seemed to take take care of it, but around the new year, the

tired strange sensation in my blood that only lyme has produced came back.

Then mild wandering soreness in joints and stitching pains came on.

First, how rigid does one need to be with these protocols? Does one

necessarily need to stay on the core protocol at least 8 months? Even if

symptoms completely disappear?

Is it important to say on the collagenous protocol the entire time while

doing the core protocol? Do all the supplements of the collagenous protocol

need to be taken, assuming no adverse reactions noticed?

What have people found as the most affordable places to obtain the herbs and

supplements?

Have people found probiotics helpful in combating the ³side-effects² of the

herbs?

Last and not least, can I expect to be Lyme free at the end of an 8-12 month

regimen? I know there is a lot of naivety in this question!

I know this is a lot of questions. I appreciate whatever can be answered.

I¹m ready to feel better.

Thank you, Jayson
