Guest guest
Hey, I've been up to 2 caps/tabs of Cats Claw and Andrographis and not experiencing nausea. When I switched to Raintree Cat's Claw (Buhner's recommended brand), I immediately started getting really bad, relentless nausea. It's gotten intolerable, even with copious amounts of ginger. What i'm wondering is -- does this mean my former brand of cat's claw would be less effective? Why would one cause nausea and not the other? They actually look very similar. thanks for any clues, NJ
Guest guest
Hard to say for sure what is causing it. Could be the capsules also. I fill my own and use only veggie capsules. I feel there is less apt to be problems that way. Buhner recommends them because he is sure they harvest it in a " good " way not to harm the environment. I am happy with what I get from 1st Chinese though. I haven't been taking any Cat's Claw for several months now though. I never noticed any problems with any brands that I used. Guest guest
This has been my experience with other herbs. Brands made all the difference, so I now always try the recommended brand. I may eventually try an alternative brand, but only after I determine how the recommended brand effects me, so I can compare. In addition to Ginger, Turmeric and others, I have added Burbur by Nutramedix to my herxing protocol, and say that stuff is great. And its really coming in handy because I have one family member getting hallucinations from the Resveratrol. I am sure its just die-off, he got tics from Turmeric for two weeks. The Burbur makes it go away immediately as well as everyone elses herxes. Everyone is getting different herxing symptoms, well some are the same, like tiredness and nausea. Anyhow, just sharing. We also use Raintree Cat's Claw; we got quite tired and nauseous for about a week, its now starting to subside. Best wishes, Heidi N Hey, I've been up to 2 caps/tabs of Cats Claw and Andrographis and not experiencing nausea. Guest guest
Good question, NJ. I get horrible nausea from Raintree Cat's Claw. Please keep me posted. As it is, I have to cut Way down on the dose. All The Best, Muriel Re: [ ] nausea and Cats Claw brand Hard to say for sure what is causing it. Could be the capsules also. Guest guest
Id look at the inactives and also the way its made--tabs vs capsules etc sometimes reacting to different brands is from the way its made, whats in it, how fast/slow we metabolize it. That said it can be possible for variations of dose--how mich is actually in there--Id go to consumerlabs and consumer union sites and see if the brands are listed--they analyze independently and report when a brand has more/less and/or even any substance as claimed as well as absorpition etc
Guest guest
I went back to my former brand and the nausea is MUCH lessened. This version of Cats Claw is branded by my local health food co-op, which has some high quality vitamins and herbs. It says on the bottle that it's " wildcrafted and ecologically harvested " , and of " highest quality " . It has exactly the same amount as the Raintree capsule, and looks the same. I've talked to the buyer in the shop and she is very conscientious about obtaining quality ingredients. I'll speak to her about this one and see if she can tell me where she gets it. I guess I'll find out next time i get my CD57 tested, whether this cats claw is effective. Last test a month ago CD57 was 11, down from 15, so I really need help from the cats claw. If anyone has got good results with other than Raintree Cat's claw (like lowered CD57), please post here! thanks, NJ
