Guest guest
Hi There Artemisia is commonly known as Wormwood. It is used extensively for the removal of parasites. It is excellent in a combination of Wormwood, cloves and black walnut. In South Africa you can get it in capsule form. Hulda prescribes it. It also acts as a mild sedative, Increases stomach acidity and lowers fevers, Also used for migraines. Stimulates the GI tract. I have used this extensively on my clients in capsule form and as a tea. I will forward the tea recipe to you. Do not take it on a very regular basis. They say it can become addictive (not sure about that) Very good herb. Regards Taryn Re: Artemisia where do you get this tea?? Guest guest
Wormwood is fantastic stuff, Medi Herb makes one as well actually called wormwood. I found a lot of relief in the gut and bowels I have no doubt it gets at the parasites. I am not addicted and have felt no dependance! however, I have been informed because of its strong nature you should take a break of a few weeks in between courses. --- Taryn Coghlan <taryn.coghlan@...> wrote: > Hi There > > Artemisia is commonly known as Wormwood. America) = Artemisia dracunculus; 2) davana (India, South Africa) = Artemisia pallens; 3) American wormwood (U.S.A.) = Artemisia absinthum; 4) European wormwood (Bulgaria) = Artemisia annua; 5) armoise / mugwort (Morocco) = Artemisia vulgaris; 6) mugwort (U.S.A.) = Artemisia douglasiana; and 7) lanyana (South Africa) = Artemisia afra Who would've guessed there'd be so many, eh? -- Larry T

There are hundreds of Artemisia species and they are cross breeding in the wild all the time, creating yet more sub-species. I would caution that not all Artemisias are alike, and they are some of the most toxic essential oils available. Just wanted to caution any beginners to research any Artemisia before using. Also, it would be helpful to take an aromatic botany course to fully understand Latin classifications. I've sponsored Dr. Shawe several times - if he is ever lecturing in your area, he provides valuable insights into the botany of aromatic plants, along with ethnobotany, conservation issues and plant history. The Artemisia you mention from Morocco could be A. arborescens, aka Great Mugwort . . . A. vulgaris is Common Mugwort and the oil usually comes from Eurasia. At any rate, good to know chemical constituents and safety issues surrounding all Artemisias. Guest guest
Hi friends, I know that it is recommended that we go on artemisia for a month and them over to cryptolepsis, correct? Why do we go off of artemisia, we seemed to have better progress with it against air hunger for my ds. Could we alternate the two, or would they interfere with one another. Thanks much, Anne
