Guest guest
A legal question came up today that I am not able to answer and I am hoping that someone on the list can help. Is a Doctor of Chiropracty (sp?) permitted to write a prescription for hyperbaric oxygenation therapy?
Guest guest
A doctor is a doctor. If they have the right to advertise they are doctors and have licenses to practice and prescribe drugs, they should be able to provide prescriptions for HBOT. Guest guest
That's not quite true. States (and the federal government for controlled substances) limit who is allowed to prescribe to those trained in pharmacology, drug use, and the management of adverse reactions ex: MD/DOs, dentists and oral surgeons, and to a limited extent, veterinarians. For example, the title " Dr. " I got for MD is associated with prescriptive authority, but the " Dr. " for my PhD is not. Re: [ ] Cat A doctor is a doctor. Guest guest
What I said was that if they have a license to prescribe meds, then they can prescribe HBOT. Most of those on your list are legally allowed to prescribe drugs. Agreed PhD;s are not. The question posed was - are Chiropractors allowed? Yes they are allowed to prescribe drugs and x-rays and MRI's and cat scans. Of course it does depend on the state they live in. Marlena Orndorff Hill wrote: > That's not quite true. Guest guest
In our area we have several Amish families who go to D.C.'s. When told they need a doctor's order for HBOT they want to know if an order from their D.C. would do. In fact a D.C. sent me a man last week who has non healing wound and wants HBOT...so again the question arose. My medical director brought it to my attention last week that a D.C. could not order HBOT, or so he thought. So I thought I would check with the list. Connie Waltz R.N., B.S.N. M. Guest guest
I THINK IT WOULD DEPEND ON WHAT STATE YOU ARE IN. I AM A CHIROPRACTOR WITH A BRAIN-INJURED DAUGHTER WHO HAS HAD 125 HBO WITH DR HARSH IN NEW ORLEANS. IN MY STATE GEORGIA CHIROPRACTORS ARE NOT ON ANY MEDICAID AND THEREFORE WE COULD NOT BE REFERRING PHYSICIANS. YET IN OTHER STATES CHIROPRACTORS ARE CONTRACTED WITH MEDICAID. I HOPE THIS HELPS. I KNOW THE CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA IS TRYING TO GET PASSED IN LEGISLATURE THIS SESSION TO BE INCLUDED. WE JUST GOT INCLUDED ON CHAMPUS WHICH IS ALL MILITARY. I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF ANYTHING NEW I HEAR. DR LINDA H KATZ Re: [ ] Cat > > Date: Saturday, February 16, 2002 2:09 AM > > > > Greetings! Guest guest
E-mail her to me!!!! LOLOL I took in 2 cats and I know how you feel!!! There is no family? friends? vet? or someone that can take her in?? I would even ask my pediatrician, teacher, aide, anyone who I come in contact with. If I lived closer, I would take her in (Kent would not like it. . .but he gets over things fast!!!) Good luck!!!! Kathy P.S. Could you contact a local vet and ask them if they knew of someone who could take her in for the time being???? NO ONE is going to put up with that, even if they initially agree to take her in....they will only dump her back on the block. Now, she's sitting on my window sill, looking in.....sigh....... Guest guest
Yes I agree. I am looking into purchasing the " kidspiration " program. I've seen the school version called " inspiration " and does exactly that. Currently utilizing the more " creative methods " makes reports fun so I think he won;t back off on them later on. His teacher also allows him to hand in a rough copy to her and she will give help. This works well too. ( ) Re: Dear : We went through this in 3rd, 4th and part of 5th grade. Thank goodness for Our Teacher who understood the concept of what I want to describe here. It will take a special step to get beyond this writing problem if your son is anything like mine or myself also having the same problem. What we finally did is disect the elements of a report or writing. The same way you would build something out of an erector set, we spent time looking at the smaller parts to make the whole and developed a formula, a checklist and a format that was easy to break down into its parts and elements. Then when it was time to write, my son worked on each element and took a small piece at a time and watched it all fit together into some good writing. Step by step. It was the only way I knew how to do it either. The teacher picked up on it and found it useful for the entire class and ended up with an entire classroom of writing stars. I believe she had already done her teaching this way, but we reinforced it even further and she dove right in. We were very lucky. Remember, that structure is everything to those with AS plus attention problems. Cat in Florida Just a thought. My son now 10 AS/ADD takes 3 - 4 days to do a report. Guest guest
use the human amt, make electrodes moist and put one on top of head, one under chin. see how that goes. If the cat likes it, you're set. bG > > OK - don't laugh - I went to the SPCA because this cat was in line to > be euthinized and so I brought him home ... he is sneezing and has > watery eyes... any ideas on how to change application and voltage for > a cat? > Karin >

Guest guest
I know people who use it with their cats. I am not sure if it helps with shedding or not. Is there an over-amount of shedding going on? What kind of a diet is your cat on? Are there other health issues? Do you use chemicals, like frontline, heartguard, vaccinations, cleaners, etc? Guest guest
I think you are very wise. Its horrible to battle this with pets. they dont understand why suddenly you seem to be cruel to them....putting them through hell pretty much.....so yes....your kitty will have a much better life out of harms way. And besides, when we had our little dog and cat these 'mites' would cycle back and forth....it was endless..... Keep up the fight, you will win....eventually everybody seems to, just keep following the methods on this forum z
Guest guest
I hear you and agree 100 %....Rita Cat Well, I am givig up my cat now. My friend has had her for a year and she can't keep her anymore. I feel even if I were able to get rid of this soon, I still would want to wait a while. Also, between my two jobs I wouldnt' have time for her. I want this, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ON HERE, to end so badly. I don't care what this, where it came from, or if there is a cosmic plan for me, just get this crap off!
Guest guest
I'm sorry to hear about your cat . I hope she finds a good home. Have you been able to get rid of the bugs in your environment? Do you have any clue why you can't get rid of them? I'm not trying to be niele, just wondering why this problem lingers so long for those of us who have been on this site for awhile. myrtle > > Well, I am givig up my cat now. Guest guest
The Dalai Lama provides such pure and simple wisdom for us. He believes that freedom is a human need. In fact, he wonders if it extends to the animal kingdom because he has a cat. He said that the cat has all the cat needs. People feed him; they pet him, but if the window is cracked open he will run away. Freedom is innate to us. The truth is that we are free, for we can choose the way we think and what we believe. It is through thought and belief that our Creator structures the world. You may not be able to hold a thought or belief in your hand, but given time thoughts and beliefs become just as a firm as a wall. In fact, we are so free that we can build walls that limit and restrict us. Freedom is so simple and yet so much more… In Love We Journey With You, Jim and Rosemergy God bless you!!!
